On 18 Nov Deputy Sheriff Mankins responded
to a report of an intoxicated male meandering down the side
walk near 233 Third Street in Lowell. The suspect, Mark Bennett,
age 18, 29905 State Route 7, Marietta, had an odor of alcohol,
a bloody nose and lip and stated he intentionally inflicted
the injuries on himself. When arresting Mr. Bennett for underage
consumption of alcohol and for disorderly conduct by intoxication,
Deputy Mankins located a marijuana pipe in Mr. Bennett’s
pocket. Also charged with possession of drug paraphernalia,
Bennett was transported to the Washington County Jail.
On 18 Nov 07 two witnesses at the Reno Post
Office, 27650 State Route 7, reported seeing a man inside the
post office, standing nude by a wooden desk with a pile of
clothes at his feet. The witnesses later saw the suspect exit
the building and enter his vehicle. The suspect, later identified
as Steven Tewkesbury, age 59, 49 Sandhill Road, Marietta, refused
to give a statement regarding his behavior when interviewed
by Deputy Sheriff Carr. As a result of the incident, Deputy
Carr requested a summons for Mr. Tewkesbury for public indecency.
On 18 Nov 07 Jason S. Wright, age 34, 2202
Murray Street, Belpre, reported he was at a friend’s
home on Whealdon Road in Cutler when his friend’s seventeen
year old daughter pointed a revolver at him. The teenager pulled
the trigger of the weapon more than once and it only clicked
because it contained no ammunition. After the girl’s
father disarmed the girl she ran off and has not been seen.
Therefore, Deputy Mankins requested a warrant for the arrest
of the teenager for delinquency by aggravated menacing.
On 18 Nov 07 Corrections Sgt. Reeder charged
Timothy J. Newbrough, age 23, 848 Greene Street, Marietta,
with illegally conveying items into a detention facility. Asked
while being processed into the jail if he possessed any illegal
items, Newbrough replied no. Despite Mr. Newbrough’s
claim, Sgt. Reeder found twenty-four Xanax pills wrapped in
cellophane in the inmate’s pocket.
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Mark Alan Haslam, age 26, 42990 Long Ridge Road, Clarington,
OH, for .17 breath OVI and for operating an unsafe vehicle,
both misdemeanors. Haslam was arrested on State Route 7 by
Chief Bourne of the New Matamoras Police Department and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 18 Nov 07 at 3:34 am.
Leroy Junior Clark, age 32, 4325 Brandeberry Road, Marietta,
for a felony charge of escape and for misdemeanor counts of
domestic violence, obstructing official business and resisting
arrest. Clark was arrested at his residence by Patrolman Arbaugh
of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the
Washington County Jail on 18 Nov 07 at 6:20 am.
Timothy James Newbrough, age 23, 848 Greene Street, Marietta,
fort a felony charge of possession of drugs and a misdemeanor
charge of violating the terms of his probation. Newbrough was
arrested on State Route 7 by the Ohio State Highway Patrol
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 18 Nov 07
at 9:00 am.
Mark Allen Bennett, age 18, 304 Third Street, Lowell, for
underage consumption of alcohol, possession of drug paraphernalia
and for disorderly conduct by intoxication, all misdemeanors.
Bennett was arrested in Lowell by Deputy Sheriff Mankins and
processed into the Washington County Jail on 18 Nov 07 at 9:40
am.
Jacob Adam Wilson, age 25, 208 Scammel Street, Marietta, for
domestic violence, a misdemeanor. Wilson was arrested at his
residence by Patrolman Chapman of the Marietta City Police
Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on
18 Nov 07 at 9:22 pm.
