On 17 Nov 07 Wayne A. Smith, age 42, 405 Second
Street, New Matamoras, reported he was traveling southbound
on State Route 7 near milepost forty-four when a deer crossed
the road in front of him. As Mr. Smith skidded his vehicle
to a stop, he then saw a sixteen year old swing his gun around
and fire the shotgun at the deer. When questioned by Deputy
Sheriff Morris, the juvenile admitted he fired the weapon across
the roadway but said only did so after the vehicle stopped
so he would not hit it. As a result, Deputy Morris requested
a summons for the teenager to appear in Juvenile Court for
being delinquent.
On 17 Nov 07 Deputy Sheriff Parks was dispatched
to the scene of a hunting accident on Rainbow Road in Marietta.
The Department of Natural Resources is handling the investigation
of the incident during which a teenager inadvertently shot
his father in the leg. The victim was transported to Marietta
Memorial Hospital and later life-flighted to Grant Medical
Center for further treatment.
On 17 Nov 07 Althea Dilelio, age 53, 150 Camelot
Road Lot 41, Belpre, reported while she was away briefly that
afternoon an unknown suspect entered her unlocked residence
and stole her purse that contained two checkbooks and her prescription
bottles of valium and Percocet. This incident remains under
investigation (707).
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Shawn Eugene Reese, age 31, 220 Elm Street, Marietta, for
domestic violence and for failure to appear at a court ordered
hearing on unpaid fines, both misdemeanors. Reese was arrested
at Arby’s in Marietta by Patrolman Sury of the Marietta
City Police Department and processed into the Washington County
Jail on 17 Nov 07 at 12:15 am.
Alex Justin Dunn, age 18, 511 Cherry Avenue, Williamstown,
for felony charges of safecracking and burglary and a misdemeanor
count of contributing to the delinquency of a child. Dunn was
arrested at the intersection of Fourth and Greene Streets in
Marietta by Lt. Wilson of the Washington County Sheriff’s
Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 17
Nov 07 at 1:30 am.
Crystal Dawn Kern, age 31, 313 Blennerhassett Avenue, Belpre,
for two counts of failure to appear and for breach of recognizance,
all misdemeanors. Kern was arrested in Belpre by Deputy Sheriff
Reynolds and processed into the Washington County Jail on 17
Nov 07 at 5:00 am.
Richard Arnaz Carter Jr., age 18, 1520 County House Lane,
for theft, a misdemeanor. Carter was arrested at Wal-Mart in
Marietta by Patrolman Hanson of the Marietta City Police Department
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 17 Nov 07
at 7:00 pm.
Stephen Robert Wheeler, age 19, 406 Sarwil Drive, Canal Winchester,
for theft, a misdemeanor. Wheeler was arrested at Wal-Mart
in Marietta by Patrolman Hanson of the Marietta City Police
Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on
17 Nov 07 at 7:09 pm.
Sean Westley Anderson, age 19, 6250 Shepler Church SW, Navarre,
OH, for underage consumption of alcohol, a misdemeanor. Anderson
was arrested on Butler Street in Marietta by Officer Ruble
of the Marietta College Police Department and processed into
the Washington County Jail on 17 Nov 07 at 7:37 pm.
Daniel Kaye Armistead, age 46, 105 Gilman Avenue, Marietta,
for disorderly conduct by intoxication, a misdemeanor. Armistead
was arrested at his residence by Deputy Sheriff Travaglio and
processed into the Washington County Jail on 17 Nov 07 at 11:44
pm.
