On 16 Nov 07 Mike Carpenter, age 35, 8395
County Nine Road, Newport, reported he is the caretaker of
a hunting cabin beside 4770 County Nine Road and when he arrived
at the property that afternoon he observed pry marks on the
lock mechanisms. No entry was gained and no property appears
missing. This incident remains under investigation (953).
On 16 Nov 07 Deputy Sheriff Morris requested
a summons for Donna J. Betts, age 75, 2229 Reeds Run Road,
Whipple, for allowing cattle to remain at large. Deputy Morris’ affidavit
requesting the summons alleges Ms. Betts’ cattle escaped
their electric fence and ate hay on a neighbor’s property.
On 16 Nov 07 Virginia R. Nunn, age 21, 125
Millers Lane Apt C6, Marietta, reported while she was at the
grocery store that afternoon an unknown suspect(s) pried open
the door to her apartment and stole the pills from her prescription
bottle of Zoloft. This incident remains under investigation
(953).
On 16 Nov 07 Deputy Sheriff Reynolds requested
a warrant for Alex J. Dunn, age 18, 3068 Bull Run Road, Waverly,
WV, for burglary, safecracking and for contributing to the
delinquency of a minor. Two days earlier Mr. Dunn’s grandfather
James Dunn, age 62, 2100 Stanleyville Narrows Road, Whipple,
reported he believed his grandson broke into his home and stole
two rifles, a shotgun, ten boxes of ammunition and a safe full
of rolled and loose coins. With the assistance of Wood County
Deputies, Deputy Reynolds located Dunn at his residence and
learned from the home’s owner he brought the stolen items
into the residence. When interviewed, Dunn stated he slid under
the garage door at his grandparents’ home with the intent
of stealing the aforementioned items. Dunn also said a seventeen
year old friend drove him to his grandparents’ home and
he gave him $100 for the ride. Deputy Reynolds also requested
a summons for the seventeen year old, a resident of Waverly,
to appear in Juvenile Court for being delinquent.
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Dennis Ray Noland, age 50, Wynncrest Drive, Marietta, for
rape, a felony. Noland was picked up at the Noble Correctional
Institution by Deputy Sheriff O’Brien and processed into
the Washington County Jail on 16 Nov 07 at 8:50 am.
Joshua Ray Uppole, age 24, 1928 Worthington Street, Parkersburg,
for violating the terms of his probation, a misdemeanor. Uppole
was arrested at the office of Probation Officer Brockmeier
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 16 Nov 07
at 9:15 am.
Justin Keith Blanton, age 19, Fourth Street,
Marietta, for assault, criminal mischief and criminal trespassing,
all misdemeanors. Blanton was arrested on Fourth Street in
Marietta by Officer Corkran of the Marietta College Police
Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on
16 Nov 07 at 5:15 pm.
Virginia Ann Daugherty, age 39, 710 ½ Clement Avenue,
Belpre, for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on
unpaid fines and for contempt of a court order, both misdemeanors.
Daugherty was arrested at her residence by Deputy Sheriff Carr
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 16 Nov 07
at 5:30 pm.
Kori Ellen Boyce-Whitacre, age 35, 580 Rummer Road, Marietta,
for speeding in a reduced zone, a misdemeanor. Boyce-Whitacre
was arrested at her residence by Deputy Sheriff Carr and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 16 Nov 07 at 8:45 pm.
