On 7 Nov 07 Deputy Sheriff Reynolds issued a citation to Holly S. Hitchcock, age 26, 134 Muskingum Drive, Marietta, for operating a vehicle with tags that expired in October 2007. Deputy Reynolds stopped Ms. Hitchcock on State Route 7 near the intersection of State Route 550 in Pioneer Township.

On 7 Nov 07 Deputy Sheriff Travaglio issued a citation to Christopher S. Hill, age 36, 857 Southlands Cemetery Road, for driving under a suspended license, for driving outside the marked lanes of travel and for not wearing a seat belt. Deputy Travaglio stopped Mr. Hill on State Route 555 near Mayle Ridge Road after Mr. Hill nearly struck his cruiser at the crest of a hill in Wesley Township.

On 7 Nov 07 Deputy Sheriff Spencer issued a minor misdemeanor citation to Sheila R. Richards, age 52, 284 Baltimore Street, Parkersburg, for disorderly conduct. A resident on Warrior Drive in Barlow phoned to report Ms. Richards was outside his residence, pounding on windows, cursing and saying she wanted to see him dead.

On 7 Nov 07 Deputies responded to the scene of death of an eighty year old Marietta resident. Though the cause of death appears to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound, this case remains under investigation (1020).

On 7 Nov 07 Floyd R. Duff, age 70, 1350 Pleasant Ridge Road, Marietta, reported between 6:30 am and 5 pm the previous day an unknown suspect(s) removed a window air conditioner to enter his home and stole a candy basket containing approximately $500 in wrapped coins. This case remains under investigation (1020).

On 7 Nov 07 Deputy Sheriff Reynolds was dispatched to the scene of a domestic dispute at 2610 Indian Run Road, Marietta. At the scene the victim in the case, Patty Newbrough, age 64, stated her niece Rachella S. Walker, age 30, lives with her and called her to take her to the emergency room because she was hearing voices. When she walked in the front door Ms. Newbrough said her niece attacked her, called her names and choked her. An Oak Grove Fire Department member who also responded to the scene after being called by Ms. Walker witnessed a second attack and was struck by Ms. Walker when she lunged for Ms. Newbrough. Questioned regarding her behavior, Ms. Walker stated the voices told her to attack her aunt and that she drove home from a bar after drinking beer and Crown Royal. Following her investigation of the incident Deputy Reynolds arrested Ms. Walker for domestic violence, disorderly conduct and for driving under a suspended license.

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:

Jhoanna Marie Wells, age 19, 540 Groves Avenue, Marietta, for violating the terms of her probation, a misdemeanor. Wells was arrested at the office of Probation Officer Brockmeier and processed into the Washington County Jail on 7 Nov 07 at 8:35 am.

Terry Mitchell Gibson Sr., age 47, 710 Front Street Apt. 1, Marietta, for trafficking in drugs, a felony. Gibson was arrested at the courthouse by Deputy Sheriff O’Brien and processed into the Washington County Jail on 7 Nov 07 at 9:14 am.

Ronald Dean Stephens, age 18, 1333 Saint Marys Avenue, Parkersburg, for theft and for criminal damaging, both misdemeanors. Stephens was arrested in Belpre by Patrolman Kirby of the Belpre City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 7 Nov 07 at 12:55 pm.

Eddie Allen Merinar, age 35, 714 Walnut Street, Ravenswood, WV, for failure to comply with the order/signal of an officer, a felony. Merinar was picked up in Jackson County, WV by Deputy Sheriff O’Brien and processed into the Washington County Jail on 7 Nov 07 at 2:10 pm.

Michael Alan Franklin, age 44, 78 Roland Street, Pottstown, PA, for disseminating matter harmful to juveniles and for five counts of importuning, all felonies. Franklin was picked up in Montgomery County, PA by Deputy Sheriff Underwood and processed into the Washington County Jail on 7 Nov 07 at 3:30 pm.

Benjamin Randall Bruce, age 18, 389 Muskingum River Road, Marietta, for violating the terms of his probation, a misdemeanor. Bruce was arrested on behalf of Probation Officer Ferrell and processed into the Washington County Jail on 7 Nov 07 at 3:50 pm.

Duane Jeffrey Burer, age 37, 11510 State Route 821, Warner, OH, for a felony charge of OVI and for a misdemeanor charge of failure to control. Burer was arrested on Cats Creek Road by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail on 7 Nov 07 at 5:30 pm.
