On 31 Oct 07 Lt. Huffer issued a citation
to Randy L. Johnson, age 23, 156 First Street, Vincent, for
traveling 58 mph in a 40 mph zone. Lt. Huffer stopped Mr. Johnson
near milepost eleven on State Route 550 in Barlow Township.
On 31 Oct 07 Deputy Sheriff Mankins issued
a citation to Paula F. Lehman, age 44, 14314 Fox Lake Road,
Martinsville, OH, for operating an unsafe vehicle. When stopped
on Muskingum Drive in Marietta after nearly striking Deputy
Mankins, Ms. Lehman stated the brakes on her vehicle did not
work.
On 31 Oct 07 Raymond R. Coss, age 68, 4848
School House Road, Little Hocking, reported receiving a phone
call from an individual stating he won $2.5 million in a sweepstakes.
In order to claim the prize though, Mr. Coss and his wife were
asked to wire $250 and $750 to cover expenses. Mr. Coss sent
the money but became suspicious when the caller asked for an
additional $3,800. This case remains under investigation (790).
On 31 Oct 07 Deputy Sheriff Carr arrested
Martin Z. Adams, age 30, Marietta, for violating the terms
of a protection order. A witness reported seeing Mr. Adams
with the protected party at a residence on Bramblewood Heights
Road and said the two were causing problems outside. When located
at the protected party’s residence Mr. Adams state he
knew he was not to be around her and knew he was going to jail.
On 31 Oct 07 an employee of Buckeye Concrete
Pumping, 4813 Oxford State Road, Middletown, OH, reported when
he arrived at the US 50-State Route 339 bridge site to pick
up a Bobcat and trailer, the trailer was missing and is presumed
stolen. This case remains under investigation (515).
On 31 Oct 07 Tracey D. Silvus, age 35, 307
Walnut Street, Lowell, reported between 5 pm and 10:30 pm the
previous evening his white gold wedding band, briefcase, lunch
box and knit cap were stolen from his unlocked truck. This
case remains under investigation (1001).
On 31 Oct 07 James R. Miller, age 63, 1387
Highland Ridge Road, Lowell, reported during the afternoon
a Stihl chainsaw was stolen from his open garage. This case
remains under investigation (684).
On 31 Oct 07 Lt. Canavan issued a citation
to Ada M. Donahue, age 18, 1208 15th Street, Parkersburg, for
traveling 54 mph in a 20 mph school zone. Lt. Canavan stopped
Ms. Donahue on State Route 550 at Warrior Drive in Barlow Township.
On 31 Oct 07 the auto shop teacher at the
Washington County Career Center, 21740 State Route 676, Marietta,
reported sometime during the last month a set of swivel head
wrenches was stolen from the shop. This case remains under
investigation (515).
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Corey Lee Smearman, age 19, 830 Fourth Street, Marietta, for
violating the terms of his probation, a misdemeanor. Smearman
was arrested on behalf of Probation Officer Hamilton and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 31 Oct 07 at 12:18 am.
Marshall Charles Kremer, age 28, 119 Strecker Hill, Marietta,
for two felony counts of breaking and entering and a misdemeanor
charge of driving under an OVI suspended license. Kremer was
arrested on Putnam Street in Marietta by Patrolman Sury of
the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the
Washington County Jail on 31 Oct 07 at 8:14 am.
Martin Zane Adams, age 30, 2610 Indian Run Road, Marietta,
for violating the terms of a protection order, a misdemeanor.
Adams was arrested at his residence by Deputy Sheriff Carr
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 31 Oct 07
at 10:21 pm.
