On 25 Oct 07 Deputy Sheriff Mankins issued citations to Larry W. Byers, age 42, 2720 Beach Drive, Belpre, for driving under a suspended and to Mr. Byers’ wife Tina, age 42, for allowing an unlicensed driver to operate her vehicle. During the stop at the intersection of Washington Boulevard and Farson Street in Belpre Township Mrs. Byers admitted she knew her husband’s license was suspended but allowed him to drive her vehicle to buy cigarettes.

On 25 Oct 07 Deputy Sheriff Morris issued a citation to Joseph A. Carpenter II, age 25, 16020 State Route 821, Elba, for driving under a drug offense suspended license and for not wearing a seat belt. Deputy Morris stopped Mr. Carpenter near milepost three on Interstate 77 in Muskingum Township.

On 25 Oct 07 Lori A. Brooker, age 40, 8020 Waterford Road, Waterford, reported during the October billing cycle a person unknown to her transferred $9,500 to one of her credit cards without her authorization. This case remains under investigation (232).

On 25 Oct 07 a passing motorist reported seeing male subject slumped over in the cab of a pickup truck parked along Roddy Road in Vincent. Medical personnel responded and determined the driver, Gordon J. Walker, age 28, 1240 Burnett Road, Cutler, did not have a medical condition and had consumed alcohol. Deputy Sheriff Carr arrived and observed Mr. Walker had glassy, bloodshot eyes and an odor of alcohol. Evident from the empty beer cans in the vehicle, Mr. Walker performed poorly on field sobriety tests. Arrested for being in physical control of a vehicle while under the influence of alcohol, Mr. Walker tested .172 BAC when transported to the Washington County Jail.

On 25 Oct 07 Valerie R. Coler, age 31, 4188 Patten Mills Road, Stockport, reported her upper lip was swollen after being struck in the mouth by her live-in boyfriend Jeff Shaw, age 45. Ms. Coler stated her boyfriend was intoxicated during their argument, began calling her names and hit her in the face. As a result of the incident, Deputy Sheriff Reynolds requested a warrant for Mr. Shaw for domestic violence.

On 25 Oct 07 Deputy Sheriff Mankins arrested Aaron J. Sarver, age 21, 15936 State Route 550, Fleming, for possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. A passenger in a vehicle stop for not using a turn signal, Sarver was observed trying to hide a marijuana pipe between the front passenger seat and console. Searched during his arrest, Sarver also had a small bag of marijuana in his possession.

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:

Aaron John Sarver, age 21, 15936 State Route 550, Fleming, for possession of drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia, both misdemeanors. Sarver was arrested on State Route 7 by Deputy Sheriff Rhodes and processed into the Washington County Jail on 25 Oct 07 at 10:30 am.

Jose Abraham Gomez, age 23, 140 Peach Drive, North Canton, for operating without a license and for driving a vehicle with expired tags, both misdemeanors. Gomez was arrested on Interstate 77 by Deputy Sheriff Reynolds and processed into the Washington County Jail on 25 Oct 07 at 11:50 am.

Sherman Ray Vaughn, age 23, 1329 East 124th Street, Cleveland, for a felony charge of failure to appear and for a misdemeanor charge of failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid fines. Vaughn was picked up at the North Central Regional Jail by Lt. Coppernoll and processed into the Washington County Jail on 25 Oct 07 at 11:55 am.

Michael Ray Atkinson, age 26, 24761 Rimstone Road, Coolville, for burglary and theft, both misdemeanors. Atkinson was picked up in Lancaster by Deputy Sheriff Underwood and processed into the Washington County Jail on 25 Oct 07 at 3:03 pm.

Aaron Francis Haney, age 22, McConnelsville, for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid fines, a misdemeanor. Haney was picked up at the Southeastern Regional Jail in Nelsonville by Deputy Sheriff Underwood and processed into the Washington County Jail on 25 Oct 07 at 3:17 pm.

Gordon John Walker, age 28, 1240 Burnett Road, Cutler, for being in physical control of a vehicle while under the influence of alcohol, a misdemeanor. Walker was arrested on Barrett Road by Deputy Sheriff Carr and processed into the Washington County Jail on 25 Oct 07 at 5:46 pm.

Terrence Dale Roddy, age 36, 783 Warrior Drive, Barlow, for operating a vehicle without a license, a misdemeanor. Roddy was arrested on US 50 by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail on 25 Oct 07 at 6:12 pm.

Richard James Williams, age 67, 4078 School House Road, Little Hocking, for OVI, driving left of center and for carrying a concealed weapon, all misdemeanors. Williams was arrested on Burnfield Road by Deputy Sheriff Mankins and processed into the Washington County Jail on 25 Oct 07 at 8:16 pm.
