On 24 Oct 07 Donna M. Neighbors, age 35, 1308
Williamson Avenue Apt. 2C, New Matamoras, reported she sells
gemstones as a hobby and that between 1 pm on 22 Oct and 12:15
am today nineteen gemstones in which she invested $4,000 were
stolen. This case remains under investigation (1184).
On 24 Oct 07 Lawrence Smith, age 74, 576 McGill
Road, Vincent, reported he was backing his truck out of his
driveway that evening when he believes someone either threw
two rocks or twice shot his windshield with a pellet gun. Mr.
Smith was not injured although his windshield was chipped during
the incident. This case remains under investigation (790).
On 24 Oct 07 Corrections Officers responded
to a fire alarm in cell I-2 at the Washington County Jail.
When officers arrived water was flowing out under the cell
door and pouring out of the sprinkler head. The cell’s
occupant, Michael J. Siders, age 27, 3150 Indian Run Road,
Marietta, claimed he inadvertently damaged the sprinkler when
he tried lifting himself to look out his window. However, Lt.
Coppernoll noted that an accident as explained by Siders is
highly unlikely given that the sprinkler head is recessed into
the ceiling. As a result, Lt. Coppernoll charged Siders with
a felony count of vandalism for damaging government property.
the Sheriff’s
Office received the following warrants:
Philip Pettit, age 32, 717 Cisler Drive, Marietta,
for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on 19 Oct
07.
Michael Slonaker, age 49, 200 Main Street Apt. 1, New Matamoras,
for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on 19 Oct
07.
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
John P. Graham, age 39, 113 State Street,
Rittman, OH, for failure to appear, a misdemeanor. Graham was
arrested in Belpre by Lt. Wilson of the Washington County Sheriff’s
Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 24
Oct 07 at 5:10 am.
Philip John Pettit Jr., age 32, 122 Tennis
Center Drive Apt. 5, Marietta, for two felony counts each of
failure to appear and for failure to register a change of address
as a registered sex offender. Pettit was arrested on Dawes
Circle in Marietta by Detective Hiatt of the Washington County
Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County
Jail on 24 Oct 07 at 1:29 pm.
David Wayne Johnson, age 55, 303 Scott Avenue, Belpre, a fugitive
from justice. Johnson was arrested at the Belpre City Police
Department by Detective Garvey and processed into the Washington
County Jail on 24 Oct 07 at 2:14 pm.
Jerry Allan Martin, age 45, 810 Warren Avenue, Belpre, for
breach of recognizance and for being in possession of an open
container of alcohol, both misdemeanors. Martin was arrested
at his residence by Deputy Sheriff Carr and processed into
the Washington County Jail on 24 Oct 07 at 8:09 pm.
