On 22 Oct 07 Sgt. Brockmeier issued a citation
to Timothy W. Wickersham, age 27, 25790 McNichols Road, Racine,
OH, for driving under a suspended license. Sgt. Brockmeier
stopped Mr. Wickersham on US 50 near State Route 339 in Belpre
Township.
On 22 Oct 07 an employee of the Edgewater
Café, 860 Muskingum River Road, Marietta, reported she
was cleaning the bar after the establishment closed when she
heard a crash and saw the building shake. Outside she yelled
for the driver of a maroon Dodge truck to stop but the driver
did not. This incident remains under investigation (200).
On 22 Oct 07 Roger Clark, age 59, 7757 State
Route 530, Lower Salem, reported he was at 101 Race Street
performing maintenance on his rental property when he was assaulted
by Larry Thompson Jr., age 24, 120 Ward Street, Marietta. Mr.
Clark stated Thompson, who was at the residence retrieving
property from his girlfriend, began throwing things around
the house and punched him when he told Thompson not to tear
up things. As a result, Mr. Thompson was arrested for assault
and transported to the Washington County Jail (586, 1183).
On 22 Oct 07 an employee of Broad Street Well
Services, PO Box 150, Bartlett, reported sometime since 17
Oct an unknown suspect(s) stole a number of parts from an oil
rig one mile off Cats Creek Road, a total loss of over $6,000.
This case remains under investigation (953).
On 22 Oct 07 Deputy Sheriff Norman investigated
an incident of domestic violence at 11A Milltown Road, Newport.
The victim, Heather Francis, age 33, phoned 911 and refused
to write a statement despite saying she was attacked and scratched
in the neck by her live-in partner Donna Jackson, age 35. Based
on Ms. Francis’ statements during the 911 call and the
presence of injuries Deputy Norman requested a summons for
Ms. Jackson for domestic violence.
On 22 Oct 07 Deputy Sheriff Travaglio arrested
Jon Paul Remus, age 23, 5317 Shepper Road, Stockbridge, MI,
for possession of drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia and
for failure to obey a traffic control device. Stopping Mr.
Remus because he did not stop at a red light at the intersection
of Pike and Acme Streets, Deputy Travaglio smelled burnt marijuana
in Remus’ vehicle. During the stop and Remus’ arrest
Deputy Travaglio discovered two bags of marijuana and a pack
of rolling papers.
JUVENILE ARRESTED FOR DELINQUENCY BY RAPE
On 22 Oct 07 Detectives began a sexual assault
investigation after an employee at St. Joseph’s Hospital
reported a two year old female was being treated for trauma
to her private
area and was being taken to Charleston Area Medical Center
for further treatment. The child’s mother stated the
child was alone with the fourteen year old male suspect for
five or ten minutes when the assault occurred. The suspect,
a Washington County resident, claimed the child was not wearing
a diaper and he inadvertently scratched the child when he smacked
her leg to discipline her. When faced with the physician’s
report contradicting his statement the suspect admitted digitally
penetrating the toddler. At that point the teenager was arrested
on a charge of delinquency, transported to the Washington
County Juvenile Detention Center and incarcerated pursuant
to instructions received from the Washington County Juvenile
Court.
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Ryan David McFann, age 22, 105 State Route 555, Little Hocking,
for OVI, operating without a license and for possession of
drug paraphernalia, all misdemeanors. McFann was arrested on
State Route 7 by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 22 Oct 07 at 2:57 am.
Jon Paul Keith Remus, age 23, 5317 Shepper Road, Stockbridge,
MI, for possession of drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia
and for failure to obey a traffic control device, all misdemeanors.
Remus was arrested on Interstate 77 by Deputy Sheriff Travaglio
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 22 Oct 07
at 5:00 am.
Justin Allen Harris, age 25, 308 Third Street
Apt. B, Lowell, for violating the terms of a protection order,
a misdemeanor. Harris was arrested in Marietta by Patrolman
Walters of the Marietta City Police Department and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 22 Oct 07 at 1:21 pm.
Joseph James Patterson, age 47, 317 Gilman Avenue Apt. A,
for breach of recognizance, public indecency and for disorderly
conduct by intoxication, all misdemeanors. Patterson was arrested
on Pennsylvania Avenue in Marietta by Patrolman Ellenwood of
the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the
Washington County Jail on 22 Oct 07 at 2:13 pm.
Jesse Scott Books, age 25, 136 Franklin Street, Marietta,
for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid
fines, a misdemeanor. Books was arrested at his residence by
Patrolman Warden of the Marietta City Police Department and
processed into the Washington County Jail on 22 Oct 07 at 3:30
pm.
Daniel Edward Christopher, age 31, 975 Mount Tom Road, Marietta,
for criminal trespassing, a misdemeanor. Christopher was arrested
on Poplar Street in Belpre by Patrolman Augenstein of the Belpre
City Police Department and processed into the Washington County
Jail on 22 Oct 07 at 3:30 pm.
Larry Gale Thompson Sr., age 24, 120 Ward Street, Marietta,
for assault, a misdemeanor. Thompson was arrested in Marietta
by Deputy Sheriff Malone and processed into the Washington
County Jail on 22 Oct 07 at 4:30 pm.
Willis Virgil Thompson, age 30, 155 Sunset Drive, Marietta,
for failure to appear, a misdemeanor. Thompson turned himself
in to Corrections Officer Anderson and was processed into the
Washington County Jail on 22 Oct 07 at 6:15 pm.
