On 20 Oct 07 Deputy Sheriff Norman responded
to the scene of death of a ninety-two year old Whipple resident.
The woman’s death appears natural; no foul play is suspected.
On 20 Oct 07 an employee of United Rentals,
1205 Pike Street, Marietta, reported overnight an unknown suspect(s)
cut through the business’ fence and stole copper welding
wire, welding cable and ground cables, a total loss of $2,700.
This case remains under investigation (296).
On 20 Oct 07 James E. Corder, age 41, 19113
State Route 821, Macksburg, reported a family member phoned
him around 2 am that morning and inferred he broke the rear
window of his Chevy truck. This case remains under investigation
(1106).
On 20 Oct 07 the owner of Lang’s Outdoor
Equipment, 100 Bender Road, Marietta, reported overnight an
unknown suspect(s) entered the business and stole two money
bags that contained a total of over $500. This case remains
under investigation (586).
On 20 Oct 07 Deputy Sheriff Rhodes arrested
Kevin W. Houck, age 24, 1915 Silver Globe Road, Marietta, for
OVI and for driving outside the marked lanes of travel. Stopped
on State Route 7 near Degussa, Mr. Houck stated he drank five
beers that evening during a card game with friends. Following
his poor performance on field sobriety tests Mr. Houck was
transported to the Washington County Jail where he tested .154
BAC.
On 20 Oct 07 Larry E. Walker, age 70, 709
Fifth Street, Belpre, struck a deer as he traveled northbound
on State Route 7 near milepost twelve. Mr. Walker was not injured
during the crash that caused functional damage to Ford Explorer
he was driving (1293).
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Jarron N. Farnsworth, age 20, 400 16th Street Apt. 1, Parkersburg,
for underage consumption of alcohol, a misdemeanor. Farnsworth
was arrested on Pike Street in Marietta by Patrolman Newell
of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the
Washington County Jail on 20 Oct 07 at 1:25 am.
Lynn Ann Elkayam, age 31, 2255 Tick Ridge Road, Vincent, for
driving under a suspended license and for having faulty license
plate light, both misdemeanors. Elkayam was arrested on State
Route 550 in Vincent by Deputy Sheriff Rhodes and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 20 Oct 07 at 2:00 am.
Harsh Govil, age 32, 80 Portage Path Apt. 7, Akron, for OVI
and for failure to obey the right of way, both misdemeanors.
Govil was arrested on State Route 821 by the Ohio State Highway
Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail on 20
Oct 07 at 2:50 am.
Dustin Ray Riley, age 22, 111 Montgomery Street Apt. 16, Marietta,
for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid
fines, a misdemeanor. Riley was arrested on Greene Street in
Marietta by Patrolman Arbaugh of the Marietta City Police Department
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 20 Oct 07
at 3:10 am.
Kevin Wesley Houck, age 24, 1915 Silver Globe Road, Marietta,
for OVI and for driving outside the marked lanes of travel,
both misdemeanors. Houck was arrested on State Route 7 in Belpre
by Deputy Sheriff Morris and processed into the Washington
County Jail on 20 Oct 07 at 4:00 am.
Christopher Brian Arnett, age 25, 833 Ridge Street, Marietta,
for obstructing official business and for failure to appear
at a court ordered hearing on unpaid fines, both misdemeanors.
Arnett was arrested on South Seventh Street in Marietta by
Deputy Sheriff Malone and processed into the Washington County
Jail on 20 Oct 07 at 12:03 pm.
Daniel Lee Ward, age 35, 1111 Cost Road, Stonewood, WV, for
disorderly conduct by intoxication and for menacing, both misdemeanors.
Ward was arrested on State Route 7 by Chief Bourne of the New
Matamoras Police Department and processed into the Washington
County Jail on 20 Oct 07 at 7:27 pm.
