On 19 Oct 07 an employee of Carter Lumber, State Route 7, Marietta, reported in May 2006 a number of suspicious product returns began taking place and have resulted in an estimated loss to the business of $10,000. This case remains under investigation (1184).

On 19 Oct 07 Mel Samples, age 67, 150 Samples Road, Vincent, reported he believes a family member has some of his old checks from a closed account and is writing checks and signing his name without permission. This case remains under investigation (586).

On 19 Oct 07 Jerry L. Yoho, age 69, 1302 State Route 821, Marietta, reported upon checking her bank statement she noticed two electronics payments of $17.95 that she did not authorize. This case remains under investigation (1001).

On 19 Oct 07 Loring Davison, age 61, 285 Sugar Run Road, Marietta, reported between 10 and 17 Oct approximately ten of his signs campaigning for Fearing Township trustee were stolen from locations throughout the area. This case remains under investigation (586).

On 19 Oct 07 Deputy Sheriff Reynolds responded to the scene of death of an eighty-three year old Wingett Run resident. The man’s death appears natural; no foul play is suspected.

On 19 Oct 07 Lincoln E. Echard, age 22, 290 State Route 124, Coolville, reported he has been staying with friends over the past two days and during that time his 1995 Subaru Impreza as well as an aluminum john boat, fishing poles and a go cart were stolen. This case remains under investigation (790).

On 19 and on 21 Oct 07 Teresa M. Luke, age 41, 629 Phillips Street, Marietta, received citations for driving under a suspended license. The stops occurred on Greene Street in Marietta and on State Route 26 in Marietta Township.

On 19 Oct 07 Lt. Wilson issued a citation to Mitchell J. Potts, age 31, 1170 Waterford Road, Waterford, for driving under a suspended license. Lt. Wilson stopped Mr. Potts on Gilman Street near Westview Avenue in Marietta.

David A. Dewitt, age 25, 107 Wilson Avenue, Marietta, for failing to appear for pretrial on 17 Oct 07.

Anthony P. Papp, age 22, 1308 Williamson Avenue Apt. 7D, New Matamoras, for disorderly conduct by fighting on 28 Sep 07.

Andrew A. Sexton, age 29, 783 Wolfe Creek, Grayson, KY, for driving under a suspended license on 6 Oct 07.

Timothy B. Huey, age 28, 12025 McKinley Avenue, Buffalo, OH, for issuing a bad check for v$3,800 for the purchase of and for the theft of a 1996 Jeep Cherokee on 7 Oct 07.

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:

Harold Eugene Michaels Jr., age 44, Goose Run Road, Marietta, for contempt of a court order, a misdemeanor. Michaels was arrested at his residence by Deputy Sheriff Morris and processed into the Washington County Jail on 19 Oct 07 at 12:15 am.

Krista Shawn Baker, age 23, 66 McGregor Street, Cairo, WV, for theft, a misdemeanor. Baker was arrested at Wal-Mart in Marietta by Patrolman Caldwell of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 19 Oct 07 at 7:08 pm.

Timothy James Triplett, age 33, 58620 State Route 124, Portland, OH, for failure to appear and theft, both felonies. Triplett was picked up in Arkansas by Deputy Sheriff Underwood and processed into the Washington County Jail on 19 Oct 07 at 8:56 pm.
