On 18 Oct 07 John E. Sink, age 49, 504 Beach
Drive, Belpre, reported he repaired a vehicle for an individual
on 10 and 11 Sep and the individual issued him two checks for
a total of $175 that were later returned for insufficient funds.
This case remains under investigation (8411).
On 18 Oct 07 Jeremy D. Huck, age 25, 700 Bear
Creek Road, Lowell, reported during the night an unknown suspect(s)
entered his garage and stole a Stihl chainsaw valued at approximately
$300. This case remains under investigation (1184).
On 18 Oct 07 Deputy Sheriff Mankins requested
warrants for Timothy B. Huey, age 28, 12025 McKinley Avenue,
Buffalo, OH, for two felony counts of motor vehicle theft and
two felony counts of passing bad checks. Deputy Mankins’ affidavit
alleges on 19 Sep 07 that Mr. Huey wrote a check for $3,800
to Sherry Fogle for a 1997 Ford Explorer and the check was
returned for insufficient funds. Similarly on 7 Oct 07, Mr.
Huey wrote a check for $3,800 to Brian Hardesty for a 1996
Jeep Grand Cherokee and the check was returned because it was
written on a closed account.
On 18 Oct 07 Deputy Sheriff Rhodes investigated
a fight between inmates at the Washington County Jail. Nathan
S. Tyson, age 20, 21 Epler Road, Lowell, stated inmate Gregg
A. Byrd, age 34, 9320 19th Avenue, Hyattsville, MD, punched
him in the chin after questioning him regarding missing potato
chips. Unhappy with Mr. Tyson’s denial, Mr. Byrd shoved
Mr. Tyson into a bunk, tackled and proceeded to choke him before
being interrupted by corrections officers. As a result, Deputy
Rhodes requested a summons for Mr. Byrd for assault.
On 18 Oct 07 Detective Evans issued a citation
to Marshall C. Kremer, age 28, 119 Strecker Hill, Marietta,
for driving under an OVI suspended license. Detective Evans
stopped Mr. Kremer on Strecker Hill in Marietta.
On 18 Oct 07 an employee of the Wrangler Tavern,
6675 State Route 821, Whipple, reported when he arrived at
the business that morning he noticed a quarter operated peanut
machine was missing and two other machines were pried open
with their quarters missing. This case remains under investigation
(1001).
On 18 Oct 07 Lt. Wilson issued a citation
to James K. Webb, age 30, 410 Cramer Drive, Marietta, for driving
outside the marked lanes of travel. Lt. Wilson stopped Mr.
Webb near milepost sixteen on State Route 7 in Warren Township.

were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Frederick Gale McKitrick, age 25, 3010 Burnett Road, Cutler,
for failure to appear, a misdemeanor. McKitrick was arrested
on Greene Street in Marietta by Patrolman Huffman of the Marietta
City Police Department and processed into the Washington County
Jail on 18 Oct 07 at 12:16 am.
Jesse Aaron Berry, age 23, 1014 Quincy Street, Parkersburg,
for OVI, possession of drugs and for failure to signal, all
misdemeanors. Berry was arrested on Fourth Street in Marietta
by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington
County Jail on 18 Oct 07 at 3:19 am.
Roger Lee Miller, age 39, 1202 Lockwood Street Apt. C, Belpre,
for felony charges of attempted tampering with evidence and
possession of drugs and misdemeanor charges of OVI, possession
of drugs, driving under a suspended license and driving outside
the marked lanes of travel. Miller was arrested on US 50 in
Belpre by Patrolman Stump of the Belpre City Police Department
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 18 Oct 07
at 5:00 am.
Heath David Greenwood, age 20, 35 Heeter Road,
Newport, for violating the terms of his probation, a misdemeanor.
Greenwood was arrested at his residence by Probation Officer
Brockmeier and processed into the Washington County Jail on
18 Oct 07 at 10:15 am.
Venson E. Moore III, age 30, 407 Fourth Street, Marietta,
for a felony charge of failure to appear and a misdemeanor
charge of failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid
fines. Moore was picked up at the Cuyahoga County Jail by Deputy
Sheriff O’Brien and processed into the Washington County
Jail on 18 Oct 07 at 6:05 pm.
Leroy Gerald Everett Best, age 25, 709 Wayne Street, Marietta,
for disorderly conduct by intoxication, a misdemeanor. Best
was arrested on Washington Street in Marietta by Patrolman
Blasko of the Marietta City Police Department and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 18 Oct 07 at 10:10 pm.
