On 16 Oct 07 Deputy Sheriff Travaglio arrested
Jeremy Matthew Rowe, age 23, 1011 Third Street, Marietta, for
driving under a suspended license, giving false information
to avoid a ticket and for having faulty taillight. Stopping
Mr. Rowe on Pike Street for having a large hole in his taillight,
Deputy Travaglio asked him for his personal information. Mr.
Rowe, knowing his license was suspended, gave his brother’s
information in a failed attempt to avoid arrest. Deputy Travaglio
discovered Mr. Rowe’s actual identity when he arrested
him and found an identification card in Mr. Rowe’s wallet.
On 16 Oct 07 Deputy Sheriff Johnson was dispatched
to the scene of a frenzied food fracas involving Brandon M.
McClung, age 24, 2425 Congress Road, Belpre, and his live-in
girlfriend Santana Wolfe, age 22. After an argument began Mr.
McClung slammed a bowl of ravioli on the kitchen table, causing
a ricochet onto Ms. Wolfe. Ms. Wolfe retaliated by throwing
pizza on Mr. McClung who also exacted revenge by squirting
salad dressing on her. A minor tussle occurred, leaving each
party with minor scratches and redness. Due to each party’s
involvement and lack of malicious intent, Mr. McClung and Ms.
Wolfe were summonses for disorderly conduct by fighting.
On 16 Oct 07 Craig Howell, age 42, 25791 State
Route 26, New Matamoras, reported between 9 pm on 14 Oct and
6:50 am the following morning an unknown suspect(s) attempted
to steal a set of wheels from his property. Mr. Howell stated
he found two of the wheels in a ditch and one is unaccounted
for. Also a mechanic who repairs vehicles on his property,
Mr. Howell said loose change was stolen from inside eight vehicles.
This case remains under investigation (790).
On 16 Oct 07 Deputy Sheriff Simmons investigated
a two vehicle collision on School Street in Macksburg. Charles
W. Ball Jr., age 45, 420 School Street, Macksburg, stated he
left his Ford F-250 in neutral and running in his driveway
while he was filling a tire with air. Mr. Ball turned around
and the next thing he saw was the truck rolling backwards down
the driveway. The vehicle crossed the roadway and collided
with the front of an Oldsmobile Cutlass owned by Tina F. Weaver,
461 High Street, Macksburg. While Ms. Weaver’s vehicle
sustained moderate damage, the damage to Mr. Ball’s truck
was light. Mr. Ball was not injured when he ran down his driveway
and attempted to stop his truck.
PENNSYLVANIA RESIDENT ARRESTED IN INTERNET
SEX CASE
Beginning in February 2006 Detective Carrie Smithberger, posing
as a fourteen year old female, was contacted by Michael A.
Franklin, age 44, 78 S. Roland Street, Pottstown, PA, to engage
in conversations over the internet. On several occasions Franklin
initiated conversations of a sexual nature and in one instance
emailed pornographic images to Detective Smithberger. Detective
Smithberger obtained for Franklin six fifth degree felony warrants,
five for importuning and one for disseminating matter harmful
to juveniles, on 12 Oct 07. Subsequently, detectives with the
Pottstown (PA) Police Department obtained a search warrant
for Franklin’s residence and arrested him on the warrants
from Washington County. Franklin is incarcerated, currently
awaiting an extradition trial in Pennsylvania.
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Shane Michael Hardie, age 31, 125 Dean Street, Marietta, for
failure to appear, a misdemeanor. Hardie was arrested at Go
Mart in Marietta by Patrolman Chapman of the Marietta City
Police Department and processed into the Washington County
Jail on 16 Oct 07 at 1:45 am.
Jeremy Matthew Rowe, age 23, 1011 Third Street, Marietta,

light, all misdemeanors. Rowe was arrested on Pike Street in
Marietta by Deputy Sheriff Travaglio and processed into the
Washington County Jail on 16 Oct 07 at 2:05 am.
Francis Joy Lebow, age 49, 24 Allview Avenue, Norwalk, CT,
for OVI and for driving outside the marked lanes of travel,
both misdemeanors. Lebow was arrested on Front Street in Marietta
by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington
County Jail on 16 Oct 07 at 3:00 am.
Justin Daniel Deems, age 27, 18155 State Route
550, Marietta, for illegal conveyance of items into a detention
facility, a felony. Deems was picked up at the Ross Correctional
Institution by Deputy Sheriff O’Brien and processed into
the Washington County Jail on 16 Oct 07 at 2:54 pm.
