On 30 Sep 07 Deputy Sheriff Morris issued a citation to Larry P. Jones, age 57, 719 Mitchell Avenue, Beverly, for traveling 75 mph in a 55 mph zone. Deputy Morris stopped Mr. Jones near milepost eighteen on State Route 60 in Waterford Township.

On 30 Sep 07 Deputy Sheriff Morris issued a citation to Elizabeth M. Blair, age 18, 2605 Merria Road, Stow, OH, for traveling 78 mph in a 55 mph zone. Deputy Morris stopped Ms. Blair near milepost ten on State Route 7 in Belpre Township.

On 30 Sep 07 Deputy Sheriff Norman was dispatched to a cabin at Sparling Farms to investigate an altercation involving Philip A. Martin, age 19, 5380 Johnson Ridge Road, Waterford; Rachael Martin, age 23, 745 Dodd Run Road, Marietta; Katie Caplinger, 5380 Johnson Ridge Road, Waterford; and a fifteen year old female Marietta resident. Arguing over money with his sister Rachael, Philip lost control, tackled her to the ground and punched and choked her. The teenager attempted to push Philip off Rachael but when she did so Ms. Caplinger grabbed her by the hair and began punching her. Deputy Norman corroborated the victims’ statements, prompting him to request a summons for Ms. Caplinger for assault. Additionally, Deputy Norman arrested Mr. Martin for domestic violence and transported him to the Washington County Jail.

On 30 Sep 07 the owner of the Lawnsdale bar, 2335 Briggs Hill Road, Belpre, reported shortly after the bar closed and was locked for the night an unknown male broke in through the rear door, rummaged through cabinets and fled without stealing anything. This case remains under investigation (586).

On 30 Sep 07 Gary B. Smith, age 51, 47520 OR W Tunnel Road, Caldwell, reported he and his wife parked their truck at the intersection of Germantown and Paw Paw Creek Road to go on a bike ride and when they returned two hours later all of the windows on the truck were completely shattered. This case remains under investigation (953).

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:

George William Amos, age 55, 20 Third Avenue, New Matamoras, for OVI, possession of drug paraphernalia and for driving outside the marked lanes of travel, all misdemeanors. Amos was arrested on State Route 7 by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail on 30 Sep 07 at 12:45 am.

Matthew Ryan Ischy, age 19, 520 Butler Street Room 210, Marietta, for obstructing official business and underage consumption of alcohol, both misdemeanors. Ischy was arrested on Butler Street in Marietta by Patrolman Huffman of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 30 Sep 07 at 2:30 am.

Joshua Cleveland Sinkfield, age 35, 111 Hart Street Apt. 2, Marietta, for driving under an FRA suspended license and for having an inoperable license plate light, both misdemeanors. Sinkfield was arrested at the intersection of Fourth and Greene Streets in Marietta by Deputy Sheriff Travaglio and processed into the Washington County Jail on 30 Sep 07 at 3:45 am.

Clarence William Leedy, age 27, 607 Center Street, Beverly, for possession of drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia and for having fictitious plates, all misdemeanors. Leedy was arrested on State Route 339 by Deputy Sheriff Rhodes and processed into the Washington County Jail on 30 Sep 07 at 8:33 am.

William Joseph Hesson, age 45, 16785 County Nine Road, New Matamoras, for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid fines and for two counts of possession of drugs, all misdemeanors. Hesson was arrested at her residence by Deputy Sheriff Carr and processed into the Washington County Jail on 30 Sep 07 at 10:30 am.

Michael Lee Roux, age 36, 2146 Sandhill Road, Marietta, for failure to appear, a misdemeanor. Roux was arrested on Greene Street in Marietta by Deputy Sheriff Carr and processed into the Washington County Jail on 30 Sep 07 at 3:15 pm.

Rodney Eugene Mayle, age 39, 17 Rallen Drive Apt. B, The Plains, for possession of drugs, driving under a suspended license, driving left of center and for not wearing a seat belt, all misdemeanors. Mayle was arrested near milepost ten on State Route 555 by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail on 30 Sep 07 at 4:30 pm.

Sard Melvin Williams, age 32, 32787 Smith Ridge Road, Long Bottom, for driving under an FRA suspended license and for having an inoperable license plate light, both misdemeanors. Williams was arrested on US 50 near Federal Road by Deputy Sheriff Travaglio and processed into the Washington County Jail on 30 Sep 07 at 9:15 pm.

Philip Andrew Martin, age 19, 5380 Johnson Ridge Road, Waterford, for domestic violence, a misdemeanor. Martin was arrested at his residence by Deputy Sheriff Norman and processed into the Washington County Jail on 30 Sep 07 at 11:00 pm.
