On 28 Sep 07 Ashley N. Hendershot, age 26,
5215 State Route 260, New Matamoras, reported between 26 and
28 Sep 07 an unknown suspect broke a window to enter her home
and then stole a jar containing over $200 in change. This case
remains under investigation (1293).
On 28 Sep 07 Deputy Sheriff Smeeks issued
a citation to Tony A. Hedges Jr., age 26, 380 Vanderhoof Road,
Coolville, for operating a vehicle without a license plate.
Deputy Smeeks stopped Mr. Hedges on Interstate 77 near exit
sixteen in Aurelius Township.
On 28 Sep 07 Gerald Lafon, age 47, 2211 State
Route 550, Cutler, reported a white male driving a white truck
stole a three year old lawnmower from his yard around between
11 am and noon. This case remains under investigation (586).
On 28 Sep 07 Lt. Canavan issued a citation
to Ronald D. Miller, age 25, State Route 555, Cutler, for traveling
42 mph in a 20 mph school zone. Lt. Canavan stopped Mr. Miller
on State Route 339 at Warrior Drive in Barlow Township.
On 28 Sep 07 Glenna M. Seevers, age 75, 310
Morris Loop Road, Marietta, reported her daughter Betty R.
Simpson, age 54, with whom she lives, was highly intoxicated
and pushed her. Arriving on scene, Deputy Sheriff Carr learned
that Ms. Seevers made a derogatory comment about Ms. Simpson’s
partner. Enraged, Ms. Simpson grabbed her mother by the wrists
and threw her onto a couch, causing her to fall onto the edge
of the couch and causing pain to her neck and back. As a result
of Ms. Simpson’s actions, Deputy Carr arrested her for
domestic violence and transported her to the Washington County
Jail.
On 28 Sep 07 Deputy Sheriff Morris issued
minor misdemeanor citations to Anthony P. Papp, age 22, 1308
Williamson Avenue Apt. 7D, New Matamoras, and his lice-in girlfriend
Crystal D. Fox, age 23, for disorderly conduct by fighting.
Both parties stated they began arguing and the incident progressed
to a point at which they began throwing and breaking things
and shoving each other. No act of domestic violence occurred
given that Mr. Papp and Ms. Fox were not in fear for their
safety.
On 28 Sep 07 Ronald R. King, age 51, 2935
Rocky Point Road, Fleming, reported after noticing his two
vehicles were entered on 26 Sep he discovered later in the
afternoon that the perpetrator(s) entered his garage/workshop
and stole a crossbow, a Buck knife and two other hunting-related
items. This case remains under investigation (187).

Ricardo Solorzano Pascual, age 31, 708 Front Street Apt. 19,
Marietta, for disorderly conduct by intoxication, a misdemeanor.
Pascual was arrested on Front Street in Marietta by Patrolman
Chapman of the Marietta City Police Department and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 28 Sep 07 at 1:56 am.
Jason Lee Callihan, age 22, 1212 Lockwood Street Apt. C, Belpre,
for telephone harassment, a misdemeanor. Callihan was arrested
at his residence by Lt. Huffer of the Washington County Sheriff’s
Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 28
Sep 07 at 9:40 am.
Betty Ruth Simpson, age 55, 310 Morris Loop
Road, Marietta, for domestic violence, a misdemeanor. Simpson
was arrested at her residence by Deputy Sheriff Carr and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 28 Sep 07 at 10:54 pm.
Stephen Robert Wheeler, age 19, 406 Sarwil Drive, Canal Winchester,
OH, for underage consumption of alcohol, a misdemeanor. Wheeler
was arrested on Putnam Street in Marietta by Patrolman Blasko
of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the
Washington County Jail on 28 Sep 07 at 11:25 pm.
Richard Arnaz Carter Jr., age 18, 5353 Rifle Drive, Canal
Winchester, OH, for underage consumption of alcohol and resisting
arrest, both misdemeanors. Carter was arrested on Greene Street
in Marietta by Patrolman Nedeff of the Marietta City Police
Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on
28 Sep 07 at 11:41 pm.
