On 27 Sep 07 a forty-two year old Lowell resident
reported one of her daughters awoke her that morning and stated
her fifteen year old sister and the family vehicle were missing.
Patrolman Linscott of the Marietta Police Department later
discovered the Chevy Lumina after it was involved in a hit
and run crash and apprehended the juvenile following a short
foot pursuit. Arriving on the scene, Deputy Sheriff Smeeks
interviewed the teenager, who stated she set her alarm for
4 am with the intention of leaving her home. As a result, Deputy
Smeeks arrested the juvenile for being delinquent and transported
her to the Washington County Juvenile Detention Center.
On 27 Sep 07 Jim Whealdon, age 43, 889 Whealdon
Road, Cutler, reported at approximately 1 pm the previous afternoon
his daughter witnessed a male subject stealing a tractor scraper
from their yard. This case remains under investigation (1090).
On 27 Sep 07 Deputy Sheriff Rhodes arrested
Anthony L. Thornabar II, age 20, 500D Barclay Avenue, for underage
consumption of alcohol. A passenger in a vehicle stopped in
Belpre, Thornabar was uncooperative and verbally hostile toward
Deputy Rhodes and a Highway Patrol Trooper. Asked about his
odor of alcohol, Mr. Thornabar admitted consuming alcohol at
a friend’s residence in Marietta.
On 27 Sep 07 Deputy Sheriff Morris arrested
a seventeen year old Newport resident for delinquency by resisting
arrest and by disorderly conduct by intoxication. The juvenile’s
parents stated their son was consuming alcohol with their permission
when he became irate and started breaking items in the home.
As Deputies Morris and Carr attempted to restrain the juvenile
he struggled and would not obey commands to desist.
On 27 Sep 07 Deputy Sheriff Smeeks issued
a citation to Rebecca A. Miller, age 60, 811 51st Street, Vienna,
for traveling 75 mph in a 60 mph zone. Deputy Smeeks stopped
Ms. Miller on US 50 near milepost three in Belpre Township.

were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Chad Robert Carpenter, age 22, 1415 Lancaster Street Apt.
5B, Marietta, for disorderly conduct by intoxication, a misdemeanor.
Carpenter was arrested outside Mahone Tire in Marietta by Patrolman
Arbaugh of the Marietta City Police Department and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 27 Sep 07 at 2:00 am.
Vicky Lynn Riddle, age 49, 413 ½ Third Street, Marietta,
for .08 breath OVI, driving under a suspended license and for
driving outside the marked lanes of travel, all misdemeanors.
Riddle was arrested on Third Street in Marietta by the Ohio
State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington County
Jail on 27 Sep 07 at 2:22 am.
Aaron Freeman Farnsworth, age 22, 122 Harmar Street, Marietta,
for receiving stolen property, a misdemeanor. Farnsworth was
arrested at Wal-Mart in Marietta by Patrolman Sury of the Marietta
City Police Department and processed into the Washington County
Jail on 27 Sep 07 at 3:30 am.
Anthony Lories Thornabar, age 20, 500 Barclay Street Apt.
D, Belpre, for underage consumption of alcohol, a misdemeanor.
Thornabar was arrested in Belpre by Deputy Sheriff Rhodes and
processed into the Washington County Jail on 27 Sep 07 at 3:53
am.
Brian Andrew Sears, age 28, Route 5 Box 98,
Parkersburg, for domestic violence, a misdemeanor. Sears turned
himself in to Detective Garvey at the Belpre City Police Department
and was processed into the Washington County Jail on 27 Sep
07 at 9:20 am.
Eric Christopher Edgar, age 22, 417 Goss Fork Road, Whipple,
for violating the terms of his parole, a felony. Edgar was
arrested at the Adult Probation Office by Lt. Coppernoll of
the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 27 Sep 07 at 10:30 am.
Aaron Robert Fulton, age 21, 214 Wooster Street Apt. B, Marietta,
for assault, a misdemeanor. Fulton was arrested on Fourth Street
in Marietta by Patrolman Arbaugh of the Marietta City Police
Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on
27 Sep 07 at 7:07 pm.
Michael Edward Taylor, age 51, 1601 Hill Street Apt. A, Belpre,
for failure to appear, a misdemeanor. Taylor was arrested on
Braun Road in Belpre by Patrolman Williams of the Belpre City
Police Department and processed into the Washington County
Jail on 27 Sep 07 at 10:45 pm.
Martin Tovar Rodriguez, age 38, Marietta, for OVI and for
operating a vehicle without a license, both misdemeanors. Rodriguez
was arrested on Greene Street in Marietta by Lt. Wilson of
the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 27 Sep 07 at 11:47 pm.
