JUVENILES SUMMONSED FOR ENTERING WATERFORD
HIGH SCHOOL
The Sheriff’s Office recently completed an investigation
concerning a breaking and entering at Waterford High School
which occurred on 2 July 07. On that date the Sheriff’s
Office received a report from a citizen stating he observed
five juveniles on Waterford High School property and that the
juveniles were breaking windows. Deputy Sheriff Rhodes photographed
damage to the building and conducted an investigation. Five
males were developed as possible suspects. From the backpack
of one of the suspects Rhodes located various tools, a football,
and other items that a teacher verified came from inside of
the school. During an interview of two of the suspects in front
of their mother they admitted to entering the building. The
three additional suspects, also brothers, initially denied
participating in the crime but later confessed as the youngest
of the three began to divulge details of the incident. As a
result of his investigation, Deputy Rhodes requested summonses
for the five juveniles to appear in Juvenile Court on a charge
of delinquency by breaking and entering.
