On 8 Sep 07 Deputy Sheriff Smeeks issued a
citation to Nathan L. Robertson, age 21, 129 Elm Street, Belpre,
for traveling 75 mph in a 60 mph zone and for driving under
a suspended license. Deputy Smeeks stopped Mr. Robertson on
US 50 near State Route 124 in Belpre Township.
On 8 Sep 07 Deputy Sheriff Norman responded
to the scene of death of a ninety-seven year old Cutler resident.
The woman’s death appears natural; no foul play is suspected.
On 8 Sep 07 Deputy Sheriff Smeeks issued a
minor misdemeanor citation to Brandy M. Lynn, age 35, 4929
State Route 33, Athens, for possession of marijuana. Stopping
Ms. Lynn on US 50 for speeding, Deputy Smeeks noticed an odor
of burnt marijuana in her vehicle. During the ensuing search
Deputy Smeeks discovered two partially smoke marijuana joints
secreted in cigarettes packs.
On 8 Sep 07 Deputy Sheriff Mankins stopped
a vehicle at the intersection of Pike and Acme Streets for
having an inoperable license plate light. Peering into the
vehicle, Deputy Mankins observed open beer cans near each of
the four passengers. When questioned, the passengers stated
they were drinking beer while the driver drove around town.
Arrested for consuming alcohol in a vehicle and transported
to the Washington County Jail were Amber D. Tice, age 25, 22
Lewnaker Drive, Beverly, WV; Nathaniel B. Becker, age 28, 1500
Mount Tom Road, Marietta; James W. Brown, age 22, 105 Hickory
Street, Lower Salem; Evan A. Davis, age 26, 8 Ridgeview Lane,
Buckhannon, WV.
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Amber Donice Tice, age 25, 22 Lewnaker Drive, Beverly, WV,
for consuming alcohol in a vehicle, a misdemeanor. Tice was
arrested at McDonald’s on Pike Street by Deputy Sheriff
Mankins and processed into the Washington County Jail on 8
Sep 07 at 12:56 am.
Nathaniel Blayn Becker, age 28, 1500 Mount Tom Road, Marietta,
for consuming alcohol in a vehicle, a misdemeanor. Becker was
arrested at McDonald’s on Pike Street by Deputy Sheriff
Mankins and processed into the Washington County Jail on 8
Sep 07 at 1:00 am.
James William Brown, age 22, 105 Hickory Street, Lower Salem,
for consuming alcohol in a vehicle, a misdemeanor. Brown was
arrested at McDonald’s on Pike Street by Deputy Sheriff
Mankins and processed into the Washington County Jail on 8
Sep 07 at 1:00 am.
Evan Adam Davis, age 26, 8 Ridgeview Lane, Buckhannon, WV,
for consuming alcohol in a vehicle, a misdemeanor. Tice was
arrested at McDonald’s on Pike Street by Deputy Sheriff
Mankins and processed into the Washington County Jail on 8
Sep 07 at 1:00 am.
Robert Lee Miller, age 33, 22773 State Route 78, Sarahsville,
OH, for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid
fines and for contempt of a court order, both misdemeanors.
Miller was picked up at the Noble County line by Lt. Huffer
of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 8 Sep 07 at 2:31 am.
Jacob Edward Mason, age 21, 50 Second Street, Vincent, for
assault, telephone harassment and criminal mischief, all misdemeanors.
Mason was arrested in Marietta by Patrolman Nedeff of the Marietta
City Police Department and processed into the Washington County
Jail on 8 Sep 07 at 3:10 am.
Brian Lewis Bias Sr., age 44, 708 Third Street, Belpre, for
driving under a suspended license and for driving with an expired
registration, both misdemeanors. Bias was arrested on Washington
Boulevard in Belpre by Patrolman Augenstein of the Belpre City
Police Department and processed into the Washington County
Jail on 8 Sep 07 at 5:15 am.
Larry Eugene Sparks, age 51, Marietta, for failure to appear
at a court ordered hearing on unpaid fines, a misdemeanor.
Sparks was arrested on State Route 7 by Sgt. Hiatt of the Washington
County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington
County Jail on 8 Sep 07 at 9:36 am.
Justin Michael Cline, age 21, 205 Trestle Hills Road, Marietta,
for escape, a felony. Cline was arrested on Harmar Street in
Marietta by Patrolman Huffman of the Marietta City Police Department
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 8 Sep 07 at
7:02 pm.
