On 3 Sep 07 Randy Rogers, age 43, 14 Brentz
Road, Little Hocking, reported while he was away from his residence
swimming that evening an unknown suspect(s) entered his home
and stole an iPod, a .45 caliber handgun, a .22 caliber rifle,
a camcorder, loose change and $140 in cash. This case remains
under investigation (515).
On 3 Sep 07 Seth T. Adams, age 22, 221 Sheldon
Avenue, Marietta, reported he was riding his bicycle on Mitchell’s
Lane to visit his kids and estranged wife when he was attacked
by Christopher A. Henderson, age 28, 826 Fifth Street, Marietta.
Witnesses confirm seeing Mr. Henderson pulling Mr. Adams off
the bike, throwing him to the ground a punching him several
times. When questioned by Deputy Sheriff Simmons, Mr. Henderson
that he assaulted Mr. Adams because he allegedly threatened
his estranged wife prior to departing for her home. As a result
of Mr. Henderson’s actions Deputy Simmons arrested him
for assault and transported him to the Washington County Jail.
On 3 Aug 07, while on patrol, Deputy Sheriff
Morris observed a male behind CVS Pharmacy pick up crate used
for business deliveries, put the crate in the vehicle and enter
the passenger side of the vehicle. Stopping the vehicle, Deputy
Morris interviewed the driver John L. Hearn, age 35, 1203 Gilman
Avenue, Marietta, and passenger Philip J. Pettit Jr., age 32,
413 Third Street, Marietta. Mr. Hearn stated he stopped the
vehicle and asked Mr. Pettit to get one of the crates so he
could use it to store things. During an ensuing search of the
vehicle a State of Ohio, Department of Corrections badge was
found, which Mr. Hearn said he discovered in an abandoned house.
While Pettit was only arrested for theft, Hearn was also charged
with receiving stolen property for possessing the badge that
appears to be stolen. This incident is under investigation.
Both were transported to and incarcerated in the Washington
County Jail.
On 3 Sep 07 Vicky L. McElfresh, age 42, 27476
State Route 7, Marietta, reported sometime over the past two
days an unknown suspect(s) removed the lock to enter the storage
building behind her home and stole a bicycle. This case remains
under investigation (1299).
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Herman James Fickisen, age 47, 52 Fulton Avenue, Newark, OH,
for OVI, not wearing a seat belt and for not using headlights,
all misdemeanors. Fickisen was arrested near milepost thirteen
on Interstate 77 by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 3 Sep 07 at 3:15 am.
Jason Allen Lewton, age 24, 1220 Ardmore Avenue SW, Canton,
OH, for possession of drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia,
both misdemeanors. Lewton was arrested near milepost twelve
on Interstate 77 by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 3 Sep 07 at 4:00 am.
Gregory Allen Wright, age 34, 3227 130th Street, Cleveland,
for driving under a suspended license and for speeding, both
misdemeanors. Wright was arrested on Interstate 77 by Deputy
Sheriff Smeeks and processed into the Washington County Jail
on 3 Sep 07 at 4:20 am.
Christopher Jay Starcher, age 23, 405 Florence Street, Belpre,
for domestic violence and possession of drug paraphernalia,
both misdemeanors. Starcher was arrested in Belpre by Patrolman
Kirby of the Belpre City Police Department and processed into
the Washington County Jail on 3 Sep 07 at 10:15 am.
David Richard Labranche, age 28, 5570 Connie Jean Road Apt.
17, Jacksonville, FL, for operating with an expired license
and for speeding, both misdemeanors. Labranche was arrested
on Interstate 77 by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 3 Sep 07 at 10:35 am.
Christopher Allen Henderson, age 28, 826 Fifth Street, Marietta,
for assault, a misdemeanor. Henderson was arrested by Deputy
Sheriff Simmons and processed into the Washington County Jail
on 3 Sep 07 at 2:00 pm.
Jonathan Lee Hearn, age 35, 1203 Greene Street, Marietta,
for theft and for receiving stolen property, both misdemeanors.
Hearn was arrested at CVS Pharmacy by Deputy Sheriff Morris
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 3 Sep 07 at
11:08 pm.
Philip John Pettit Jr., age 32, 717 Cisler Drive, Marietta,
for theft, a misdemeanor. Pettit was arrested at CVS Pharmacy
by Deputy Sheriff Morris and processed into the Washington
County Jail on 3 Sep 07 at 11:08 pm.
