On 2 Sep 07 Brenda Murphy, age 44, 51194 State Route 7, New Matamoras, reported she was asleep when her husband Randal, age 46, arrived home drunk and assaulted her. Mrs. Murphy said her husband has been abusive in the past and this evening he choked her, slapped her and threatened to kill her if she had him put in jail. Based on Mrs. Murphy’s statement and injuries, Deputy Sheriff Norman arrested Mr. Murphy for domestic violence and transported him to the Washington County Jail.

On 2 Sep 07 Deputy Sheriff Staats issued a citation to Ian B. Blair, age 24, 16818 Joy Ridge Road, Sharpsburg, for traveling 72 mph in a 55 mph zone. Deputy Staats stopped Mr. Blair near milepost four on State Route 550 in Wesley Township.

On 2 Sep 07 Deputy Sheriff Mankins issued minor misdemeanor citations to John R. Jackson, age 44, 45 Cathedral Lane Apt. 312, Cuyahoga Falls, OH, and Tiffany J. Burwell, age 21, 206 Broughton Avenue, Marietta, for disorderly conduct. During an incident in the grandstands at the fairgrounds Ms. Burwell threw a drink at Mr. Jackson, who in turn chased Ms. Burwell and pulled her hair. Several patrons in the grandstands stated the suspects’ behavior scared and upset them.

On 2 Sep 07 Deputy Sheriff Rhodes issued a citation to Brandon M. Williams, age 27, 128 Franklin Street, Marietta, for driving under a suspended license. Deputy Rhodes stopped Mr. Williams at the intersection of Virginia and Franklin Streets in Pioneer Township.

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:

Jeffrey Alan Theiss, age 29, 27130 State Route 7, Marietta, for violating the terms of his probation, a misdemeanor. Theiss was arrested at the Locker Room in Marietta by Patrolman McCracken of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 2 Sep 07 at 1:30 am.

Randal Gene Murphy, age 46, 51194 State Route 7, New Matamoras, for domestic violence, a misdemeanor. Murphy was arrested at his residence by Deputy Sheriff Norman and processed into the Washington County Jail on 2 Sep 07 at 3:20 am.

Andrew J. Neal, age 25, 930 Wiley Street, Belpre, for driving under a suspended license, a misdemeanor. Neal was arrested on Hill Street in Belpre by Deputy Sheriff Smeeks and processed into the Washington County Jail on 2 Sep 07 at 4:35 am.

Michael Anthony Bowman, age 23, 120 Harmar Street, Marietta, for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid fines, a misdemeanor. Bowman was arrested on Front Street in Marietta by Patrolman Huffman of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 2 Sep 07 at 3:25 pm.

Jorge Perez Figueroa, age 22, 1024 Hunt Valley Drive, Reynoldsburg, OH, for speeding and for driving with an expired license, both misdemeanors. Figueroa was arrested on Interstate 77 by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail on 2 Sep 07 at 7:21 pm.
