On 1 Sep 07 Scott A. Handschumaker, age 23,
335 Handschumaker Road, Marietta, reported he was weed eating
his uncle’s yard on Hills Bridge Road when he witnessed
a male subject roll a tire out of the bed of a pickup truck
as it traveled on the roadway. Able to obtain the license plate
number, Deputy Sheriff Simmons questioned James J. Carpenter,
age 47, 413 Third Street, Marietta. Mr. Carpenter admitted
throwing the tire out of the truck and will be issued a summons
to appear in court for littering.
On 1 Sep 07 Deputy Sheriff Smeeks issued a
citation to Mark E. Hendershot, age 19, 1945 Wynncrest Drive,
Marietta, for traveling 80 mph in a 55 mph zone. Deputy Smeeks
stopped Mr. Hendershot near milepost seventeen on State Route
7 in Belpre Township.
On 1 Sep 07 Adrienne M. Love, age 18, 1235
County House Lane, Marietta, reported she was a passenger in
a vehicle when the driver of the vehicle pulled into the driveway
of 640 Caywood Road to turn around from southbound to northbound.
Ms. Love stated the home’s resident, later identified
as Amanda Sparks, age 31, motioned for them to exit the driveway
so they did so and backed into a driveway behind them. At that
point, Ms. Sparks ran down her driveway and threw a handful
of rocks, nearly striking Ms. Love and damaging the vehicle.
In consequence, Deputy Sheriff Travaglio requested a summons
for Ms. Sparks for disorderly conduct and criminal damaging.
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Larry James Freeland, age 35, 603 Main Street Apt. C, Belpre,
for violating the terms of a protection order, a misdemeanor.
Freeland was arrested at his residence by Patrolman Williams
of the Belpre City Police Department and processed into the
Washington County Jail on 1 Sep 07 at 7:14 pm.
Kimberly Anne Munoz, age 411 ½ Franklin Street, Marietta,
for theft and for possession of drug abuse instruments, both
misdemeanors. Munoz was arrested at Wal-Mart in Marietta by
Patrolman Blasko of the Marietta City Police Department and
processed into the Washington County Jail on 1 Sep 07 at 7:49
pm.
Brian Keith Owens, age 23, 159A Route 1, Cairo, WV, for driving
under a suspended license, a misdemeanor. Owens was arrested
on State Route 7 by Deputy Sheriff Staats and processed into
the Washington County Jail on 1 Sep 07 at 11:45 pm.
Curtis Loren Rogers, age 47, 428 Danvers Court, Orrville,
OH, for OVI, possession of drugs, assault and for possessing
an open container of alcohol, all misdemeanors. Rogers was
arrested on State Route 26 by the Ohio State Highway Patrol
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 1 Sep 07 at
11:50 pm.
Debra Anne Turner, age 47, 336 Muskingum Drive, Marietta,
for possession of drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia and
for having an open container of alcohol, all misdemeanors.
Turner was arrested on State Route 26 by the Ohio State Highway
Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail on 1 Sep
07 at 11:50 pm.
