On 31 Aug 07 Deputy Sheriff Staats arrested Cecelia M. Duff, age 57, 26935 Cedar Bark Village Apt. 5D, Marietta, for OVI. Called to Cedarbark Apartments after a neighbor heard a crash, Deputy Staats determined Ms. Duff was operating her Jeep Liberty and struck a vehicle. Despite her claim of sobriety, Ms. Duff had a strong odor of alcohol and stated she drank four beers earlier in the afternoon. When transported to the Washington County Jail Ms. Duff refused to submit to a breath test.

On 31 Aug 07 an employee of the Pit Stop, 3355 State Route 821, Marietta, reported the driver of an 80’s model Chevy Silverado drove off without paying for $25 in gasoline. This case remains under investigation (1106).

On 31 Aug 07 Sharon M. Farley, age 58, 445 Long Road, Marietta, reported her grandson’s bicycle was stolen from her porch during the night. In the same time frame John L. Bailey, age 54, 615 Long Road, Marietta, stated two unlocked vehicles in his driveway were entered and a cellular phone and loose change stolen. These cases remain under investigation (1106).

the Sheriff’s Office received the following warrants:

Katie D. Cline, age 19, 27400 State Route 7 Lot 63, Marietta, for an assault perpetrated on 21 Jul 07.

Robin J. Richards, age 20, 4076 State Route 339, Belpre, for breach of recognizance for failing to appear for arraignment on 10 Aug 07.

Brian E. Sturm, age 39, PO Box 116, Lower Salem, for contempt for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid fines in the sum of $175.50.

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:

Sterling Houston Roberts, age 24, 664 Oak Street, Dayton, for violating the terms of his probation, a felony. Roberts was arrested in Marietta by Patrolman Nedeff of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 30 Aug 07 at 10:00 pm.

Jill Bernon, age 51, 25496 Bryden Road, Beachwood, OH, for OVI and for speeding, both misdemeanors. Bernon was arrested on State Route 7 by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail on 31 Aug 07 at 3:44 pm.

Robin Jerome Richards, age 20, Muskingum Drive, Marietta, for possession of drug paraphernalia and for breach of recognizance, both misdemeanors. Richards was arrested on Muskingum Drive by Deputy Sheriff Carr and processed into the Washington County Jail on 31 Aug 07 at 6:30 pm.

Cecelia Marie Duff, age 57, 26935 Cedar Bark Village Apt. 5D, Marietta, for OVI, a misdemeanor. Duff was arrested on State Route 7 in Marietta by Deputy Sheriff Staats and processed into the Washington County Jail on 31 Aug 07 at 7:50 pm.
