On 25 Aug 07 John M. Wells, age 64, 305 Lauer
Road, Whipple, reported when he was at Wal Mart that morning
he noticed nails in the front tires of his vehicle and he did
not know when or how the punctures occurred. This case remains
under investigation (1106).
On 25 Aug 07 Deputy Sheriff Travaglio issued
a citation to Deanna J. Tate-Pisula, age 30, 300 Starlite Drive
Lot 34, Marietta, for failure to obey the right of way. Deputy
Travaglio stopped Ms. Tate-Pisula after she turned from Starlite
Drive onto State Route 7 and forced an oncoming car to swerve
in order to avoid striking her vehicle.
On 25 Aug 07 Amy D. Apple, 347 Warren Chapel
Road, Belpre, reported the driver of an unknown vehicle struck
the rear passenger side fender of her 1990 Toyota Corolla in
the parking lot of the Station Carryout and left the scene
without notifying her. This incident remains under investigation
(500).
On 25 Aug 07 Deputy Sheriff Mankins issued
a citation to Benjamin M. Starling , age 19, 12514 State Route
550, Fleming, for traveling 54 mph in a 40 mph zone. Deputy
Mankins stopped Mr. Starling on State Route 550 at Warrior
Drive in Barlow Township.
SUSPECT ARRESTED FOR TRAFFICKING PILLS
At 1230 pm on 25 Aug 07 Agents from the Washington
County Major Crimes Task Force and Sgt. Brockmeier of the Sheriff’s
Office arrested George Brent Cox, age 38, at his residence,
10820 State Route 821, Lower Salem, OH for felony trafficking
of Hydrocodone pills. Receiving information on Cox’s
activities from a federal law enforcement agency, a subsequent
investigation revealed Cox had received a prescription of Hydrocodone
and from that prescription supplied 20 pills to a female with
whom he was sexually involved. The transactions of
the pills
occurred in the parking lot of a local company on Industry
Road, Marietta, OH where Cox is employed. Possession of hydrocodone
pills are pending against the female. A photograph of Cox is
attached.
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Douglas Edward McKiff, age 31, Route 2 Apt. 47H, Alderson,
WV, for two felony counts of possession of drugs and for misdemeanor
charges of speeding and possession of drug paraphernalia. McKiff
was arrested on Interstate 77 by the Ohio State Highway Patrol
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 25 Aug 07
at 8:18 am.
George Brent Cox, age 38, 10820 State Route 821, Lower Salem,
for trafficking in drugs, a felony. Cox was arrested at his
residence by Detective Parks of the Washington County Sheriff’s
Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 25
Aug 07 at 2:36 pm.
Joseph James Patterson, age 46, 317 Gilman Avenue Lot A, Marietta,
for disorderly conduct by intoxication, a misdemeanor. Patterson
was arrested on Gilman Avenue in Marietta by Patrolman Arbaugh
of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the
Washington County Jail on 25 Aug 07 at 6:15 pm.
Jason Tipton Darst, age 23, 1342 Saint Marys Avenue, Parkersburg,
for driving under an FRA suspended license, for driving with
fictitious plates and for not using a child restraint, all
misdemeanors. Darst was arrested on US 50 by the Ohio State
Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail
on 25 Aug 07 at 9:45 pm.
Tausha Lee Wagoner, age 27, 1342 Saint Marys Avenue, Parkersburg,
for obstructing official business, a misdemeanor. Darst was
arrested on US 50 by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 25 Aug 07 at 9:45 pm.
