On 16 Aug 07 Lt. Wilson and Deputy Sheriff
Spencer responded to a 911 call at 4525 Sparling Road, Waterford.
At the scene, Victoria Van Oftenbridge, age 43, stated she
was attempting to retrieve clothing for herself and her son
and that her boyfriend would not allow her to enter the residence.
Ms. Van Oftenbridge denied any act of domestic violence occurred,
saying only obscenities were exchanged during the incident.
Confirming Ms. Van Oftenbridge’s statement with witnesses,
Deputy Spencer closed this case as unfounded.
On 16 Aug 07 Deputy Sheriff Norman requested
a summons for Jessica Ash, age 21, Pennock Drive Lot 16, Beverly,
for possession of drugs. Ms. Ash’s step-mother stated
her step-daughter took some over her prescription Soma, was
lethargic and her eyes glazed. Transported to the hospital,
Ms. Ash stated she consumed her step-mother’s medication
in an effort to ease pain caused by her broken foot.
On 16 Aug 07 Katrina Zinn, age 36, 2146 Sandhill
Road, Marietta, reported her friend Michael L. Roux, age 35,
whom she allowed to stay at her home, stole $250 from her purse
while she took a nap that afternoon. Ms. Zinn stated Mr. Roux
also stole a neighbor’s bicycle that was on the front
porch of her home. Locating Mr. Zinn at a residence on Elmwood
Avenue, Deputy Sheriff Norman found the bike in question as
well as items Mr. Roux purchased with the stolen money. Mr.
Roux was charged with two counts of theft and with possession
of drugs and drug paraphernalia, for at the time of his arrest
he was found to have a glass marijuana pipe and a bag of marijuana.
On 16 Aug 07 a trustee for the Cutler Mission
Church, 9588 State Route 555, Cutler, reported sometime during
the last twenty-four hours an unknown suspect(s) damaged the
front door to the mission hall. Though the lock and door jamb
were broken it does not appear the suspect(s) gained entry
into the building. This case remains under investigation (864).
On 16 Aug 07 Valissa Winters, age 39, 4164
Veto Road, Vincent, reported being assaulted by her live-in
boyfriend Clayton P. Conklin, age 47. Arguing about their planned
move to Maine, Ms. Winters stated Mr. Conklin forcefully grabbed
her arms and struck her once in the mouth. Deputy Sheriff Staats
determined Ms. Winters feared for her safety during the incident,
impelling him to arrest Mr. Conklin for domestic violence.
On 16 Aug 07 Deputy Sheriff Travaglio conducted
a traffic stop in Marietta on a vehicle driven by Kerry M.
Dalton, age 20, 2406 45th Street, Parkersburg, for having a
defective exhaust. In speaking to Mr. Dalton Deputy Travaglio
noticed an odor of burnt marijuana and later discovered a marijuana
bud in a cigarette pack, a marijuana pipe behind the overhead
visor and a marijuana joint in the glove compartment. As a
result, Deputy Travaglio arrested Mr. Dalton for possession
of drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia. Mr. Dalton was
also charged with falsification and obstructing justice due
to his insistence prior and subsequent to his arrest that his
name was Doug Lamp. Mr. Dalton eventually revealed his true
identity but only after his wife phoned with the correct information.
On 16 Aug 07 an employee of Greenleaf Landscaping,
414 Muskingum Drive, Marietta, reported in June and July of
this year an unauthorized individual used the business’ account
to purchase over $3,300 in items over the phone and internet.
This case remains under investigation (1106).
SUSPECT ARRESTED FOR TRAFFICKING IN COCAINE
On 16 Aug 07 Detectives from the Washington
County Sheriff’s
Office Narcotics Unit arrested Jeremy L. Moore, age 28, 1230
South Avenue, Urbana, OH for Trafficking in Cocaine. Moore
was arrested at 5th and Main Street in Belpre after selling
10.4 grams of cocaine to another individual at a nearby residence.
Moore was also charged with misdemeanor charges of possession
of marijuana and drug paraphernalia and driving under suspension.
Moore is being held without bond pending his initial court
appearance in Marietta Municipal Court.
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Dallas Willey Farnsworth, age 34, 122 Harmar Street, Marietta,
for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid
fines and for possession of drugs, both misdemeanors. Farnsworth
was arrested at his residence by Patrolman Arbaugh of the Marietta
City Police Department and processed into the Washington County
Jail on 16 Aug 07 at 12:35 am.
Buddy Allen Miller, age 33, Waterford, for two misdemeanor
counts of contempt of a court order. Miller was arrested at
his residence by Lt. Wilson of the Washington County Sheriff’s
Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 16
Aug 07 at 3:37 am.
James Matthew Bunner, age 25, Route 1 Box
75, Petroleum, WV, for breach of recognizance, burglary and
theft, all felonies. Bunner was picked up at the North Central
Regional Jail by Deputy Sheriff O’Brien and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 16 Aug 07 at 9:30 am.
Kerry Michael Dalton, age 20, 2406 45th Street, Parkersburg,
for driving under as suspended license, for having a defective
exhaust, falsification, obstructing official business, possession
of drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia, all misdemeanors.
Dalton was arrested on State Route 60 by Deputy Sheriff Travaglio
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 16 Aug 07
at 10:50 am.
Jeremy Lee Moore, age 28, 1230 Second Avenue, Urbana, OH,
for a felony charge of trafficking in drugs and for misdemeanor
charges of possession of drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia
and driving under a suspended license. Moore was arrested on
Main Street in Belpre by Detective Schuck of the Washington
County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington
County Jail on 16 Aug 07 at 4:08 pm.
Clayton P. Conklin Sr., age 47, 4164 Veto Road, Vincent, for
domestic violence, a misdemeanor. Conklin was arrested at his
residence by Deputy Sheriff Staats and processed into the Washington
County Jail on 16 Aug 07 at 7:57 pm.
