On 13 Aug 07 Sgt. Brockmeier responded to
the scene of death of a seventy-two year old Marietta resident.
The man’s death appears natural; no foul play is suspected.
On 13 Aug 07 Isacc Hildreth, age 24, 716 Franklin
Avenue Apt. A, Belpre, reported when he arrived for work as
a security guard at a lumber mill at 1708 Back Road, Macksburg,
he noticed the office building door was kicked open and the
lights were on inside. Surveying the lumber mill building,
Mr. Hildreth confronted a white male who appeared to be trying
to steal copper wiring. The male unsuccessfully tried punching
Mr. Hildreth then fled the scene. This case remains under investigation
(695).
On 13 Aug 07 Scott Fouss, age 45, 3480 Dalzell
Road, Whipple, reported the Ford Ranger his son drives was
stolen while his son attended a party on State Route 821 in
Whipple on 10 Aug. The truck was later recovered undamaged
in Morgan County. This case remains under investigation (945).
SUSPECT ARRESTED FOR SEX OFFENSE
On 13 Aug 07 Detective Evans arrested Leroy Skinner Sr., age
68, 8225 Muskingum River Road, Marietta, for gross sexual imposition,
a third degree felony. An investigation into an incident in
March 2006 revealed that Mr. Skinner was babysitting for a
six month old male family member when the offense occurred.
Mr. Skinner confessed that after he laid the child in a crib
for a nap he exposed himself and touched the child’s
face with his genitals. Skinner is being held without bond
pending his initial court appearance this afternoon.
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
John Franklin Bruffey, age 69, 1300 Airport
Drive, Quincy, FL, for being in physical control of a vehicle
while under the influence of alcohol, a misdemeanor. Bruffey
was arrested on Interstate 77 by the Ohio State Highway Patrol
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 13 Aug 07
at 1:45 am.
Elizabeth May Bumgarner, age 19, 547 Sixth
Street, Parkersburg, for violating the terms of her probation,
a misdemeanor. Bumgarner turned herself in to Patrolman Hively
at the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the
Washington County Jail on 13 Aug 07 at 7:33 pm.
Lewis A. Belleville, age 66, 174 Front Street, Marietta, for
OVI and for driving left of center, both misdemeanors. Belleville
was arrested on Franklin Street in Marietta by Patrolman Huffman
of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the
Washington County Jail on 13 Aug 07 at 7:56 pm.
Andre Delvon Hamlet, age 23, Belpre, for two misdemeanor counts
of driving under a suspended license. Hamlet was arrested in
Belpre by Patrolman Jobes of the Belpre City Police Department
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 13 Aug 07
at 8:19 pm.
Seth Adam Robinson, age 23, 5160 Skyline Drive, Cambridge,
for driving under a suspended license and for consuming alcohol
in a vehicle, both misdemeanors. Robinson was arrested on State
Route 7 by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into
the Washington County Jail on 13 Aug 07 at 8:41 pm.
Leroy Earl Skinner Sr., age 68, 8225 Muskingum River Road,
Marietta, for gross sexual imposition, a felony. Skinner turned
himself in to Detective Evans at the Washington County Sheriff’s
Office and was processed into the Washington County Jail on
13 Aug 07 at 9:52 pm.
