On 12 Aug 07 Deputy Sheriff Smeeks responded
to the scene of death of a twenty-eight year old New Matamoras
resident. The man’s death remains under investigation.
On 12 Aug 07 Deputy Sheriff Rhodes arrested
Shane M. Bennett, age 31, 718 ½ Middle Street Apt. B,
Belpre, for OVI. As Deputy Rhodes followed Mr. Bennett on US
50 at 40 mph he observed Mr. Bennett’s vehicle weaving
outside of its lane of travel. Finally able to stop Mr. Bennett
when he turned onto Farson Street, Deputy Rhodes detected a
strong odor of alcohol and administered field sobriety tests.
Following Mr. Bennett’s poor performance the tests he
was transported to the Washington County Jail where he tested
.086% BAC.
On 12 Aug 07 Renee Heiss, age 33, 140 Harvest
Run Road, Marietta, reported when she answered a knock at her
door her ex-boyfriend and father of her child forced his way
into her garage. Ms. Heiss stated her ex-boyfriend was extremely
upset and clenched his fists, causing her to fear he would
punch her. After a few minutes of cursing, Ms. Heiss’ ex-boyfriend
left. This case remains under investigation (1001).
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Mayford Lee Miller, age 49, 403 Blennerhasset Avenue, Belpre,
for domestic violence, a misdemeanor. Miller was arrested at
his residence by Patrolman Augenstein of the Belpre City Police
Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on
12 Aug 07 at 5:57 am.
Kyle Thomas Oliver, age 19, 2009 Saint Thomas Drive Apt. 105,
Waldorf, MD, for underage consumption of alcohol, a misdemeanor.
Oliver was arrested on Seventh Street in Marietta by Patrolman
Chapman of the Marietta City Police Department and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 12 Aug 07 at 7:55 am.
Todd Howard Pash, age 34, 5921 Horse Pasture Lane, Charlotte,
NC, for driving under a suspended license and for speeding,
both misdemeanors. Pash was arrested on Interstate 77 by the
Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington
County Jail on 12 Aug 07 at 4:05 pm.
Donna Lou Martin, age 52, 627 Second Street, Marietta, for
OVI, driving under a suspended license and for driving left
of center, all misdemeanors. Martin was arrested on the west
side of Marietta by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 12 Aug 07 at 11:11 pm.
