On 9 Aug 07 at 3:20 am Lt. Wilson observed
an individual slumped over in the driver’s seat of a
truck parked in the parking lot of the Outskirts Bar. Lt. Wilson
shook the driver, Marvin F. Blair Jr., age 45, 911 McGill Road,
Vincent, to awake him and observed an open beer bottle. Mr.
Blair appeared very disoriented and had a strong odor of alcohol.
Unable to complete sobriety tests, Mr. Blair stated he drank
ten beers that evening and consumed an unidentified pill he
obtained from his deceased mother’s home. Arresting Mr.
Blair for OVI, Lt. Wilson charged him with tampering with drugs
after he searched the truck and discovered a vitamin bottle
containing the pills Mr. Blair took. At the Washington County
Jail Mr. Blair was also found in possession of marijuana, resulting
in an additional charge of possession of marijuana.
On 9 Aug 07 Jay Berentz, age 32, 415 Couglar
Street, New Matamoras, reported he was driving on Main Street
in New Matamoras when his brothers Ryan, age 34, and Gary,
age 38, 101 Evans Street Apt. C2, flagged him down to stop
at Ryan’s residence at 714 Main Street. As Jay exited
his vehicle Gary began yelling about a debt Ryan owed, grabbed
him, threw him onto Ryan’s vehicle and then to the ground.
Jay attempted to escape to his vehicle and was attacked from
behind by Ryan, who began punching him in the back of the head.
Jay then fled to his home suffering a split lip and head contusion.
After interviewing the suspects Deputy Travaglio arrested both
Ryan and Gary for domestic violence and transported them to
the Washington County Jail.

Elizabeth M. Bumgarner, age 19, 547 Sixth
Street, Parkersburg, for violating the terms of her probation
by failing to appear for a scheduled appointment.
Scott E. Collins, age 22, 309 Rumson Street, Englewood, OH,
for violating the terms of his probation by failing to appear
for a scheduled appointment.
Jamie L. Foutty, age 21, 169 Mill Branch Road, Belpre, for
violating the terms of his probation by failing to appear for
a scheduled appointment.
James S. Goodnow, age 36, 309 W. Fifth Street, Williamstown,
for violating the terms of his probation by failing to appear
for a scheduled appointment.
Michael Hoffert, age 24, Boaz Gardens Apt. 17, Williamstown,
for violating the terms of his probation by failing to appear
for a scheduled appointment.
Robert B. Long, age 22, 925 Logan Avenue, New Philadelphia,
for violating the terms of his probation by failing to appear
for a scheduled appointment.
Alan Mills, age 44, 127 Pine Street, Little Hocking, for violating
the terms of his probation by failing to appear for a scheduled
appointment.
Jennifer M. McGowan, age 23, 707 Sixth Street, Marietta, for
violating the terms of her probation by failing to appear for
a scheduled appointment.
Kenneth A. Newbanks, age 28, 526 Third Street, Marietta, for
contempt for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on
unpaid fines in the sum of $137.15.
Jackson O. Patterson, age 23, 719 Orchard Street, Marietta,
for violating the terms of his probation by failing to appear
for a scheduled appointment.
Mary A. Sheridan, age 32, 404 East Montgomery Street, Marietta,
for violating the terms of her probation by failing to show
proof of completing forty hours of community service or to
serve three days in jail.
Bradford C. Tallman, age 34, 2702 Division Street, Parkersburg,
for violating the terms of his probation by failing to appear
for a scheduled appointment.
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Richard Henry Haught Jr., age 47, 513 Smith
Street, Marietta, for obstructing official business, a misdemeanor.
Haught was arrested on Greene Street in Marietta by Patrolman
McCracken of the Marietta City Police Department and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 9 Aug 07 at 12:25 am.
Rodney Allen Crites, age 26, 1210 Lockwood Street Apt. B,
Belpre, for driving under an FRA suspended license, a misdemeanor.
Crites was arrested on School House Road in Little Hocking
by Deputy Sheriff Malone and processed into the Washington
County Jail on 9 Aug 07 at 3:20 am.
Marvin Frederick Blair Jr., age 45, 911 McGill Road, Vincent,
for a felony charge of tampering with drugs and misdemeanor
charges of OVI and possession of drugs. Blair was arrested
on State Route 550 by Lt. Wilson of the Washington County Sheriff’s
Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 9 Aug
07 at 5:10 am.
Gregory Mitchell Stockdale, age 39, 906 17th
Street Apt. 2, Vienna, for attempting to use deception to obtain
a dangerous drug, a felony. Stockdale was arrested at Selby
Hospital in Marietta by Patrolman Warden of the Marietta City
Police Department and processed into the Washington County
Jail on 9 Aug 07 at 10:22 am.
Brent John McKinney, age 33, 120 Dawes Circle, Marietta, for
two misdemeanor counts of failure to appear. McKinney was arrested
on Seventh Street in Marietta by Deputy Sheriff Travaglio and
processed into the Washington County Jail on 9 Aug 07 at 2:55
pm.
Gary Dennis Berentz, age 38, 101 Evans Street Apt. C2, New
Matamoras, for domestic violence, a misdemeanor. Berentz was
arrested on Main Street in New Matamoras by Deputy Sheriff
Travaglio and processed into the Washington County Jail on
9 Aug 07 at 5:45 pm.
Ryan Michael Berentz, age 34, 714 Main Street, New Matamoras,
for domestic violence, a misdemeanor. Berentz was arrested
on Main Street in New Matamoras by Deputy Sheriff Travaglio
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 9 Aug 07 at
5:45 pm.
Tommy Glen Bettis, age 57, 631 Seventh Street, Marietta, for
failure to appear, a felony. Bettis was arrested at Sierra
Apartments in Marietta by Deputy Sheriff Travaglio and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 9 Aug 07 at 10:39 pm.
John Leonard Clark, age 35, 1685 Wynncrest Drive, Marietta,
for driving under a suspended license, a misdemeanor. Clark
was arrested at the intersection of Ward and Virginia Streets
in Marietta by Deputy Sheriff Staats and processed into the
Washington County Jail on 9 Aug 07 at 11:55 pm.
