On 2 Aug 07 Joseph A. Miles, age 26, 540 Rummer Road, Marietta, reported while he and his girlfriend were away from their residence between 6 pm Wednesday night and 1 am the following morning an unknown suspect(s) kicked in the basement door and took their two dogs, one a rottweiler and the other a dachshund/beagle mix. This case remains under investigation (232).

On 2 Aug 07 an employee of TD Discoveries, 3110 Braun Road, Belpre, reported a number of tools were stolen from the business sometime since it closed in May of this year. This case remains under investigation (515).

On 2 Aug 07 Dan Moorehead, 370 Belavista Drive, Marietta, reported between 1:30 am and 9 am an unknown suspect(s) entered his unlocked truck and stole an Olympus digital camera. This case remains under investigation (515).

ATHENS COUNTY SEARCH WARRANTS EXECUTED

This afternoon, agents of the Major Crimes Task Force executed simultaneous search warrants at the following residences at the Carriage Hill apartment complex in Athens:

During the month of July a confidential informant consummated several purchases of crack cocaine from the aforementioned individuals in quantities ranging from 2.14 to 3.37 grams, some of which were also in the presence of children. The suspects are believed to be acting in consort with one another and are the main suppliers of crack cocaine in the Carriage Hill Apartments. Breeze, George and Stevens were arrested and taken into custody. Haynes is currently being sought for questioning.

The Major Crimes Task Force is composed of the Athens, Morgan, and Washington County Sheriff’s Offices; the Athens, Marietta and Belpre Police Departments; the Bureau of Criminal Investigation and Identification; and the Athens, Morgan and Washington County Prosecuting Attorney’s Offices.

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:

Jerry Allen Beasley, age 56, 2075 Ashland Road Lot 33, Mansfield, OH, for OVI and for driving outside the marked lanes of travel, both misdemeanors. Beasley was arrested on Interstate 77 by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail on 2 Aug 07 at 7:00 am.

William Louis Rowan, age 44, 5109 State Route 555, Little Hocking, for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid fines and for violating the terms of his probation, both misdemeanors. Rowan was arrested at the office of Probation Officer Hamilton and processed into the Washington County Jail on 2 Aug 07 at 8:47 am.

Gregory Alan Huxley, age 48, 1326 Avery Street, Parkersburg, for violating the terms of his probation, a misdemeanor. Huxley was arrested on behalf of Probation Officer Hamilton and processed into the Washington County Jail on 2 Aug 07 at 10:02 am.

Philip John Pettit Jr., age 32, 717 Cisler Drive, Marietta, for failure to register a change of address as a registered sex offender, a felony. Pettit was arrested at Bob Evans in Marietta by Detective Hawkins of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 2 Aug 07 at 2:46 pm.

Pebble Michelle Kinney, age 22, 2289 Blue Knob Road, Marietta, for violating the terms of her probation, a felony. Kinney was arrested at the Four Seasons in Marietta by Patrolman Arbaugh of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 2 Aug 07 at 8:45 pm.
