On 21 Jul 07 an eleven year old Marietta resident reported she was riding her bicycle when a nineteen year old female acquaintance accosted her. The juvenile stated she ran away as the female threw rocks at her and when she tripped the suspect jumped on top of her and choked her briefly with her necklace. This case remains under investigation (1184).

On 21 Jul 07 Deputy Sheriff Smeeks issued a minor misdemeanor citation to Nathan E. Markle, age 30, 3075 Stewart Park Drive, Tobaccoville, NC, for possession of marijuana. Deputy Smeeks stopped Mr. Markle for speeding on Interstate 77 and found two bags of marijuana after his canine indicated the presence of drugs in Mr. Markle’s vehicle.

On 21 Jul 07 Lt. Canavan and Deputy Sheriff Morris responded to an altercation at 241 Germantown Road, Lower Salem. Elizabeth A. Knighten, age 44, stated she was asleep after drinking at a bar with her live-in boyfriend Roger D. Wagner, age 55, when she awoke to her boyfriend elbowing her and calling her names. In response, Ms. Knighten threw a glass and hit the forehead of Mr. Wagner. Both refused to write statements and to cooperate further and were issued minor misdemeanor citations for disorderly conduct by intoxication.

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:

Robert Jonathan Huffman, age 26, 797 Channel Lane, Marietta, for violating the terms of his probation, a misdemeanor. Huffman was arrested by Probation Officer Hamilton and processed into the Washington County Jail on 21 Jul 07 at 12:09 am.

Edward Miles Casto, age 44, 232 Sixth Street, Marietta, for disorderly conduct by intoxication, a misdemeanor. Casto was arrested at the Four Seasons in Marietta by Patrolman McCracken of the Marietta City Police Department and was processed into the Washington County Jail on 21 Jul 07 at 12:29 am.

Casey Cole Caskin, age 25, 3560 Waterford Road, Lowell, for violating the terms of her probation, a misdemeanor. Caskin was arrested at the Double L in Marietta by Patrolman Huffman of the Marietta City Police Department and was processed into the Washington County Jail on 21 Jul 07 at 2:00 am.

Brandon Dewayne Deishler, age 26, Marietta, for driving under a suspended license, a misdemeanor. Deishler was arrested on Pike Street by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and was processed into the Washington County Jail on 21 Jul 07 at 3:35 am.

Robert Billy Clay Combs, age 23, 958 Broad Boulevard, Kettering, OH, for a felony charge of trafficking in drugs and for three misdemeanor charges of possession of drugs. Combs was arrested in Marietta by Patrolman McCracken of the Marietta City Police Department and was processed into the Washington County Jail on 21 Jul 07 at 3:58 am.

Sterling Houston Roberts, age 24, 664 Oak Street, Dayton, for driving under a suspended license and for obstructing official business, both misdemeanors. Roberts was arrested on Pike Street in Marietta by Patrolman Blasko of the Marietta City Police Department and was processed into the Washington County Jail on 21 Jul 07 at 4:18 am.

Britney Ann Perrera, age 21, 274 Ridgewood Court Apt. E, Marietta, for theft and possession of drugs, both misdemeanors. Perrera was arrested at Rinks in Marietta by Patrolman Warden of the Marietta City Police Department and was processed into the Washington County Jail on 21 Jul 07 at 11:32 am.

Elizabeth Ann West, age 25, 906 Fifth Street, Marietta, for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid fines, a misdemeanor. West was arrested at her residence by Patrolman Huffman of the Marietta City Police Department and was processed into the Washington County Jail on 21 Jul 07 at 6:25 pm.

Paul David Mayle, age 43, 20729 Sharps Run Road, Stewart, for a felony charge of OVI and misdemeanor charges of driving under a suspended license, not wearing a seat belt and having fictitious plates. Mayle was arrested near milepost four on State Route 550 by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and was processed into the Washington County Jail on 21 Jul 07 at 7:35 pm.

Jeffrey Alan Theiss, age 29, 27130 State Route 7, Marietta, for driving under a suspended license, a misdemeanor. Theiss was arrested at the intersection of Seventh and Greene Streets in Marietta by Deputy Sheriff Morris and processed into the Washington County Jail on 21 Jul 07 at 10:35 pm.

Beverly Gail Valley, age 46, 107 Coventry Road, Marietta, for driving with an expired license, a misdemeanor. Valley was arrested at the intersection of Front and Greene Streets in Marietta by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and was processed into the Washington County Jail on 21 Jul 07 at 10:35 pm.

Kami Ann Hinzman, age 20, Marietta, for underage consumption of alcohol, a misdemeanor. Hinzman was arrested on Riley Drive in Marietta by Patrolman Huffman of the Marietta City Police Department and was processed into the Washington County Jail on 21 Jul 07 at 10:50 pm.
