On 13 Jul 07 Brianna Davis, age 18, 1145 Lynch Church Road, Marietta, reported during the night an unknown suspect entered her unlocked vehicle and stole a cup of loose change and her wallet that contained $30 in cash, her personal identification cards and debit card. This case remains under investigation (1001).

On 13 Jul 07 Matthew L. Poulton, 279 Seevers Road, Newport, reported he parked his 1998 Toyota Tacoma parked upon a hill of Dana’s Run Road in Newport to scout deer and when he returned it appeared the truck slipped from gear, rolled down the hill and collided with a tree. The truck sustained functional damage to the passenger side and tailgate area (1184).

On 13 Jul 07 an employee of the Lowell Duchess, 100 Main Street, Lowell, reported an individual purporting to be a representative of MasterCard phoned the business and had the cashier complete four fraudulent transactions. During the transactions the suspect was able to obtain $2,400 worth of credit on prepaid MasterCards. This case remains under investigation (409).

On 13 Jul 07 Jeffrey D. Munnell, age 45, 3065 Dixon Ridge Road, Lowell, reported between 23 and 27 Dec 06 an unknown suspect used his personal information to charge $172.97 in merchandise through Shop NBC. This case remains under investigation (1001).

On 13 Jul 07 Deputy Sheriff Staats issued a citation to Robert M. Russell, age 18, 3275 Highland Ridge Road, Lowell, for traveling 71 mph in a 55 mph zone. Deputy Staats stopped Mr. Russell on Interstate 77 near milepost fifteen in Aurelius Township.

On 13 Jul 07 Lt. Canavan issued a citation to Robert J. Marshall Jr., age 34, 21635 State Route 26, Wingett Run, for traveling 66 mph in a 55 mph zone. Lt. Canavan stopped Mr. Marshall on State Route 26 near milepost fourteen in Lawrence Township.

At approximately 1:00 am on 13 Jul 07 Deputy Sheriff Spencer responded to the Outskirts bar located at 2825 State Route 550, Marietta. Initial reports on the incident indicate that the driver of a white Camaro intentionally struck the victim, Michelle Jovanovic, age 24, 1635 Clark Road, Cutler. According to witnesses the suspect, Charles C. Carpenter, age 22, 403 Wirt Street, Belpre, was doing donuts in the bar’s parking lot and struck the front bumper of a parked truck. Mr. Carpenter then saw Ms. Jovanovic, who is his ex-girlfriend, and drove his vehicle directly at her. Unable to avoid the accelerating vehicle, Ms. Jovanovic was struck and knocked to the gravel. Mr. Carpenter fled the scene at a high rate of speed and was located and arrested the afternoon of 16 Jul 07 at Putnam Place in Belpre. Ms. Jovanovic was transported to Marietta Memorial Hospital for treatment to her injuries. Carpenter is being held on a charge of felonious assault pending his initial court appearance.

On 13 Jul 07 Deputy Sheriff Smeeks requested a summons for Justin P. Cline, age 19, 4492 State Route 339, Belpre, for possession of marijuana. Noticing Mr. Cline acting suspiciously after being stopped for speeding on State Route 7 near Veto Road, Deputy Smeeks conducted an exterior canine search which led to the discovery of a baggy of marijuana stuffed under a seat in Mr. Cline’s vehicle.

Scott Boley, age 32, 2356 Mount Carmel Ridge, Saint Marys, for violating the terms of a protection order on 9 Jul 07.

Elmer D. Harvey, age 29, 3590 N. River Road, Zanesville, for driving under an FRA suspended license, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle criminal trespassing and for violating the terms of a protection order on 8 Jul 07.

William J. Hesson, age 45, 16785 County Nine Road, New Matamoras, for possession of Schedule III and IV controlled substances on 5 Jun 07.

David M. Hill, age 27, PO Box 16, Trimble, OH, for the unauthorized use of a farm tractor on 1 Mar 07.

Phillip C. Hughes, age 21, 1001 Front Street, Marietta, for telecommunications harassment on 6 Jun 07.

Stephanie P. Maggi, age 21, 1108 Juliana Street, Parkersburg, for violating the terms of her probation by being charged with a new offense.

Heather D. Sloan, age 25, 1415 Lancaster Street Apt. 3A, Marietta, for issuing a bad check to Devola Cream Land for $18.45 on 16 Apr 07.

Jessica L. Stevens, age 25, Hillcrest Drive Apt. 39, Marietta, for failing to appear for pretrial on 3 Jul 07.

Michael R. Wagner, age 18, 105 Hazelwood Road, Marietta, for the theft of a cubic zirconia engagement ring on 4 May 07.

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:

Walter Ricky Ayala, age 20, 25 Summers Road, Marietta, for driving under a suspended license and for five counts of failure to appear, all misdemeanors. Ayala was arrested on State Route 7 by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail on 13 Jul 07 at 4:30 am.

Teri Lynn Long, age 30, 2087 Barth Road, Belpre, for passing bad checks, a misdemeanor. Long was arrested in Marietta Municipal Court by Patrolman Hively of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 13 Jul 07 at 11:05 am.

Andy Wayne Monk, age 48, PO Box 1, Buchtel, OH, for passing bad checks, a misdemeanor.
Monk was arrested in Marietta Municipal Court by Patrolman Heddleston of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 13 Jul 07 at 11:55 am.

William Stanton Terry, age 21, 8868 State Route 555, Cutler, for reckless operation, a misdemeanor. Terry was arrested in Marietta Municipal Court by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail on 13 Jul 07 at 11:55 am.

Tiffany Ann Bloss, age 27, 1115 Lynch Church Road, Marietta, for disorderly conduct, a misdemeanor. Bloss was arrested in Marietta by Deputy Sheriff Simmons and processed into the Washington County Jail on 13 Jul 07 at 6:09 pm.
