On 6 Jun 07 Deputy Sheriff Mankins arrested Dewaine W. Mayle, age 19, Marietta, for OVI and for driving left of center. Traveling on State Route 555, Deputy Mankins observed Mr. Mayle travel a foot left of center and stopped the vehicle near milepost 17.6. At that time Deputy Mankins detected an odor of alcohol on Mr. Mayle and administered field sobriety tests. Following Mr. Mayle’s poor performance on the tests he was transported to the Washington County Jail where he tested .097% BAC.

On 6 Jul 07 Deputy Sheriff Mankins issued a citation to Steven W. Gilliland, age 23, 140 Mercer Road, Stockport, for towing a trailer without a license plate and without tail lights. Deputy Mankins stopped Mr. Gilliland on State Route 550 near State Route 339 in Barlow Township.

On 6 Jul 07 Lillie Wright, age 70, 4085 Muskingum River Road, Lowell, reported around 2:30 am on 4 Jul 07 a lawn ornament of Happy from Snow White and the Seven Dwarves was stolen from her yard. This case remains under investigation (1293).

On 6 Jul 07 Sheila K. Bentley, age 45, 201 Flintwood Drive, Marietta, reported she has not seen or heard from her twenty-seven year old daughter since the first of the month. Deputy Sheriff Simmons located the daughter, who stated she was well desired not to have contact with her mother.

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:

Kristi Ann Freed, age 34, 624 Allen Street, Marietta, for failure to appear, a misdemeanor. Freed was arrested at the courthouse by Deputy Sheriff Reynolds and processed into the Washington County Jail on 6 Jul 07 at 9:00 am.

Phillip Edward Singer, age 39, 40 Hanover Street, Cutler, for OVI, driving under a suspended license, driving left of center and for not wearing a seat belt, all misdemeanors. Singer was arrested on State Route 555 by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail on 6 Jul 07 at 8:26 pm.

Matthew Scott Johnson, age 28, Comfort Inn Room 437, Marietta, for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid fines, a misdemeanor. Johnson was arrested at the Four Seasons by Patrolman Kampmeier of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 6 Jul 07 at 9:14 pm.

Mark Eugene Perine, age 25, State Route 7, Reno, for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid fines and for failure to appear, both misdemeanors. Perine was arrested on Second Street in Marietta by Patrolman Huffman of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 6 Jul 07 at 9:47 pm.

Penny Marie Grubb, age 26, 7889 Dille Road, Chesterhill, for two misdemeanor counts of violating the terms of her probation. Grubb was picked up at the Morgan County line by Deputy Sheriff Mankins and processed into the Washington County Jail on 6 Jul 07 at 11:43 pm.
