On 26 Jun 07 Deputy Sheriff Malone responded
to the scene of death of a seventy-eight year old Lowell resident.
The man’s death appears natural; no foul play is suspected.
On 26 Jun 07 James W. Dunn, age 61, 2100 Stanleyville
Narrows Road, Whipple, reported sometime since Sunday morning
an unknown suspect(s) dumped a large amount of trash on his
property along Stanleyville Narrows Road. This case remains
under investigation (695, 1184).
MARIJUANA TRAFFICKING ARRESTS
On 26 Jun 07 members of the Major Crimes Task Force arrested
Shawna D. Wells, age 37, 401 Main Street, New Matamoras, and
John A. Tullius, age 27, 1011 Front Street, Marietta, for trafficking
in marijuana. The purchase of marijuana from Wells transpired
on 22 May 07 in the presence of a child in the home, elevating
the charge to a fourth degree felony. Similarly, Tullius sold
the marijuana during a controlled buy on 22 May. His charge
was elevated to a fourth degree felony from a fifth degree
felony due to the fact the transaction took place within 1,000
feet of Saint Mary’s School. Both remain incarcerated
without bond pending their appearance in Municipal Court at
1 pm today. Additional charges are pending and the investigation
is continuing.
DROWNING DEATH IN VINCENT
At 9:19 pm on 26 Jun 07 Deputy Sheriff Staats was dispatched
to Camden Clark Hospital to begin an investigation into the
drowning death of Justin Rockhold, age 20, 58 Sweetapple Road,
Vincent. Mr. Rockhold’s mother phoned 911 after arriving
at her home and finding her son floating face down in their
pool. Though no foul play is suspected this case remains under
investigation pending an autopsy report being conducted by
law enforcement officials in West Virginia.
the Sheriff’s
Office received the following warrants:
Raymond E. Campbell, age 24, 307 Barnett Ridge
Road, Belpre, for violating the terms of his probation by failing
to show proof of making restitution or to appear to serve ten
days in jail.
Adam E. Drayer, age 23, 186 Mill Street Apt. 205, Athens,
for violating the terms of his probation by failing to appear
for a scheduled appointment.
James S. Walraven, age 30, 885 State Route 555, Little Hocking,
for violating the terms of his probation by failing to pay
his fines in full by 11 Jun 07.
The following
individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Craig R. Cole, age 19, 50248 Orchard Lane, Clarington, OH,
for driving under an FRA suspended license, a misdemeanor.
Cole was arrested on State Route 60 near Masonic Park Road
by Deputy Sheriff Spencer and processed into the Washington
County Jail on 26 Jun 07 at 12:20 am.
Danny Ray Hayward, age 46, 188 Higgins Lane, Raeford, NC,
for OVI, possession of drugs and for being in possession of
an open container of alcohol, all misdemeanors. Hayward was
arrested in Marietta by Patrolman Chapman of the Marietta City
Police Department and processed into the Washington County
Jail on 26 Jun 07 at 3:15 am.
John Fitzgerald Batten, age 43, 716 Franklin Avenue, Marietta,
for violating the terms of a protection order, a misdemeanor.
Batten was arrested at the courthouse by Lt. Coppernoll of
the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 26 Jun 07 at 11:14 am.
Charles William Baker III, age 34, 389 Cedar Mill Road, Lowell,
for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid
fines, a misdemeanor. Baker was arrested by Deputy Sheriff
Eddy and processed into the Washington County Jail on 26 Jun
07 at 11:32 am.
Shawna Dale Wells, age 37, 401 Main Street, New Matamoras,
for trafficking in drugs, a felony. Wells was arrested at her
residence by Detective Smithberger of the Washington County
Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County
Jail on 26 Jun 07 at 11:55 am.
John Andrew Tullius III, age 27, 1011 Front Street, Marietta,
for trafficking in drugs, a felony. Tullius was arrested at
his residence by Detective Smithberger of the Washington County
Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County
Jail on 26 Jun 07 at 2:00 pm.
