On 23 Jun 07 Deputy Sheriff Staats arrested
Nathaniel P. Kindler, age 20, PO Box 218, Waterford, for OVI.
Called to the scene of a crash at 234 Angle Road in Waterford,
Deputy Staats learned Mr. Kindler was operating a motorcycle
on the property when he crashed into a parked Mercury Mountaineer
owned by Katrina S. Lauer, 240 Woodland Acres, Waterford. Deputy
Staats noticed an odor of alcohol and administered horizontal
gaze nystagmus tests. Following his poor performance on the
tests, Mr. Kindler was transported to the Washington County
Jail where he tested .161% BAC.
On 23 Jun 07 Deputy Sheriff Stackpole began
an investigation into the theft of property from vehicles at
1105 and 1135 BF Goodrich Road and 112 and 129 Arrow Road in
Marietta. Stolen items include CD players, a portable DVD player,
cigarettes, lottery tickets and miscellaneous change.
On 23 Jun 07 Deputy Sheriff Smeeks arrested
Donald J. Smith, age 23, 2420 Unionville Road, McConnelsville,
for OVI, driving outside the marked lanes of travel and possession
of drug paraphernalia. Deputy Smeeks observed Mr. Smith driving
the vehicle at a high rate of speed as he passed him at the
Duke station in Lowell. Noticing Mr. Smith weaving outside
his lane, Deputy Smeeks conducted a traffic stop on State Route
60. Deputy Smeeks detected an odor of alcohol and administered
field sobriety tests, on which Mr. Smith performed poorly.
Prior to arresting Mr. Smith for OVI Deputy Smeeks located
a marijuana pipe in Mr. Smith’s vehicle and additionally
charged him with possession of drug paraphernalia. When transported
to the Washington County Jail Mr. Smith tested .121% BAC.
On 23 Jun 07 Deputy Sheriff Reynolds issued
a citation to Marie D. Carpenter, age 22, 4263 Williamstown
Pike, Williamstown, for operating a vehicle with fictitious
registration. Deputy Reynolds stopped Ms. Carpenter on State
Route 7 near County House Lane in Pioneer Township.
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Andrew Bryant Tucker, age 23, Marietta, for failure to appear
at a court ordered hearing on unpaid fines, a misdemeanor.
Tucker was arrested near milepost twenty-seven on State Route
7 by Deputy Sheriff Reynolds and processed into the Washington
County Jail on 23 Jun 07 at 12:01 am.
Donald James Smith, age 23, 2420 Unionville Road, McConnelsville,
for OVI, driving outside the marked lanes of travel and possession
of drug paraphernalia, all misdemeanors. Smith was arrested
on State Route 60 by Deputy Sheriff Smeeks and processed into
the Washington County Jail on 23 Jun 07 at 4:00 am.
Kenneth Steven Nimeth Jr., age 35, 982 Urania Avenue, Encinitas,
CA, for operating a vehicle without a license, a misdemeanor.
Nimeth was arrested near milepost seventeen on Interstate 77
by Deputy Sheriff Smeeks and processed into the Washington
County Jail on 23 Jun 07 at 9:20 pm.
