On 21 Jun 07 Deputy Sheriff Stackpole investigated
the theft of a ten year old Vincent boy’s bike from Barlow-Vincent
Elementary School. A janitor later located the bike in a dumpster
at the high school. This case remains under investigation (1090).
On 21 Jun 07 Deputy Sheriff Reynolds arrested
Richard D. Gill, age 45, 16081 State Route 550, Fleming, for
violating the terms of a protection order for the second time
since 9 Jun 07. Mr. Gill violated the order by phoning Kathy
Gaskins, age 34, 17 Lauer Road, Whipple, that morning and by
doing so from his parents’ home, which is within the
one mile protection zone dictated by the order.
On 21 Jun 07 Jerry L. Arthurs, age 65, 597
Congress Road, Belpre, reported a used but operational Mack
truck radiator was stolen from his side yard some time over
the past two days. The radiator was located at RJ Recycling
and the individuals who sold it are still being sought (1090).
On 21 Jun 07 David Yoho, age 46, 1368 Cavehill
Road, Little Hocking, reported when he attempted to break up
an argument between his two sons, the older of the two attacked
him. Mr. Yoho stated his son Eric, age 20, 2691 Lake Road Apt.
C, Fleming, pushed him against a car and began throwing punches.
A witness however contradicts, saying the son was walking away
when his father grabbed his shirt and started the fight. Due
to the conflicting statements, Deputy Sheriff Stackpole will
file charges on both parties for disorderly conduct by fighting.
On 21 Jun 07 Deputy Sheriff Morris issued
a citation to Teresa M. Luke, age 40, 230 S. Sixth Street,
Marietta, for not using a child restraint. Deputy Morris stopped
Ms. Luke on Millers Lane at Hills Bridge Road in Marietta Township.
On 21 Jun 07 Deputy Sheriff Morris issued
a citation to Melanie O. Dishong, age 48, 280 Reed Road, Marietta,
for not stopping at a stop sign. Deputy Morris stopped Ms.
Dishong after she failed to stop before turning onto Millers
Lane from Hills Bridge Road in Marietta Township.
On 21 Jun 07 Sgt. Underwood investigated a
single vehicle crash near 5570 Warren Chapel Road. A sixteen
year old female was driving her Ford Escort northbound when
she encountered gravel on the side of the road, overcorrected
her steering and flipped her vehicle after striking dirt bank.
The vehicle sustained heavy damage and was towed from the scene.
The Warren Fire Department transported the teenage driver to
Marietta Memorial Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
On 21 Jun 07 Ryan Berentz, age 34, 714 Main
Street, New Matamoras, reported during the night an unknown
suspect(s) poured maple syrup on the sidewalk and siding of
his home, stuck slices of bologna on the house and broke a
corner off his truck’s bug shield. This case remains
under investigation (1001).
FELONIOUS ASSAULT ARREST
At approximately 10:30 pm last night officers
from the Sheriff’s Office responded to call during which
it was reported that an individual received a gunshot wound
at Haught Run campground located on State Route 26 in Ludlow
Township. During the investigation, it was determined that
Gary Frazier, age 61, 445 Wilson Drive, Lowell, was the person
responsible for shooting the victim, Larry Ridgeway Jr., age
30, New Matamoras. After being read his rights Mr. Frazier
detailed the events leading up to the shooting. Mr. Frazier
stated at the campground Mr. Ridgeway and several others arrived
on ATVs and created a disturbance, possibly waking children
that were just put to bed. The ensuing confrontation included
Mr. Frazier’s twenty-five year old son, who was allegedly
struck by Mr. Ridgeway. In retaliation Mr. Frazier fired a
single round from a .22 caliber revolver, striking Mr. Ridgeway
in the abdomen. Ridgeway was transported to Marietta Memorial
Hospital and later life-flighted to Columbus for further treatment.
He is in critical condition at Grant Hospital in Columbus
with the bullet lodged near his spine. Frazier was arrested for
felonious assault and transported to the Washington County
Jail where he is being held pending
his initial court appearance. Additional charges are pending.

John E. Anderson, age 25, Marietta, for failing
to register a change of address as a registered sex offender.
Casey M. Fox, age 23, 226 Maple Drive, Williamstown, for contempt
for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid
fines in the sum of $500.50.
Jeremy D. Green, age 26, 551 College Parkway, Parkersburg,
for failing to appear for a bond hearing and arraignment on
18 Jun 07.
John D. O’Brien, age 24, 7305 State Route 26, Marietta,
for contempt for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing
on unpaid fines in the sum of $1,464.50.
Michael S. Whipkey, age 30, 215 Caywood Road, Marietta, for
contempt for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on
unpaid fines in the sum of $118.30.
Kawika Williams, age 30, 200 Brittigan Circle, Marietta, for
contempt for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on
unpaid fines in the sum of $513.50.
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:

Office by Detective Hiatt and processed into the Washington
County Jail on 21 Jun 07 at 2:35 am.
Serena Charlene Lindsey, age 31, 413 Market
Street, Marietta, for failure to appear, a misdemeanor. Lindsey
was arrested at her residence by Deputy Sheriff Simmons and
processed into the Washington County Jail on 21 Jun 07 at 10:30
am.
Norman David Kennedy, age 21, 304 Elm Street, Marietta, for
four misdemeanor counts of failure to appear. Kennedy was arrested
at the VFW hall by A1 Bonding and processed into the Washington
County Jail on 21 Jun 07 at 11:25 am.
Steven George Farley, age 61, 300 Starlite Drive Lot 4, Marietta,
for telephone harassment, a misdemeanor. Farley was arrested
at his residence by Deputy Sheriff Simmons and processed into
the Washington County Jail on 21 Jun 07 at 11:30 am.
Samantha Jo Streight, age 18, 432 Douglas Avenue, Marietta,
for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid
fines and for passing bad checks, both misdemeanors. Streight
turned herself in to Corrections Officer Carr and was processed
into the Washington County Jail on 21 Jun 07 at 12:50 pm.
William Joseph Carter Sr., age 22, 1101 Cisler Lane, Marietta,
for domestic violence and failure to appear, both misdemeanors.
Carter was arrested at his residence by A1 Bonding and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 21 Jun 07 at 1:15 pm.
Kawika Keone Williams, age 30, 200 Brittigan Circle, Marietta,
for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid
fines, a misdemeanor. Williams turned himself in to Deputy
Sheriff Simmons and processed into the Washington County Jail
on 21 Jun 07 at 2:30 pm.
David Allen Sayres, age 42, Marietta, for disorderly conduct
by intoxication, a misdemeanor. Sayres was arrested in Marietta
by Patrolman Arbaugh of the Marietta City Police Department
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 21 Jun 07
at 11:27 pm.
Richard Daniel Gill, age 45, 16081 State Route 550, Fleming,
for violating the terms of a protection order, a misdemeanor.
Gill was arrested on Dalzell Road by Deputy Sheriff Reynolds
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 21 Jun 07
