On 14 Jun 07 Deputy Sheriff Smeeks issued minor misdemeanor citations to Andrew T. Wright, age 27, 254 Southland Cemetery Road, Bartlett, and to Jimmie J. Staats, age 40, 491 Hill Road, Cutler, for consuming alcohol in a vehicle. Mr. Staats was the driver of a vehicle stopped on State Route 555 in Wesley Township for having a faulty license plate light. During the stop Deputy Smeeks noticed two cold, half full cans of beer which both passengers admitted drinking.

On 14 Jun 07 Deputy Sheriff Rhodes arrested Bernard Newman Delancey, age 44, 27927 Huckleberry Road, Coolville, for OVI and for operating with an expired license. Patrolling on US 50, Deputy Rhodes noticed four passengers in the cab of Mr. Delancey’s truck. Mr. Delancey had a strong odor of alcohol and admitted drink twelve cans of Busch Light prior to the stop. Following his poor performance on field sobriety tests Mr. Delancey was transported to the Washington County Jail where he tested .116% BAC. A passenger in the vehicle, Larry G. Munday Jr., age 42, 367A Riverhill Road, Washington, WV, was arrested for consuming alcohol in a vehicle and possession of drugs. Mr. Munday had an open can of Busch Light in the truck and a bag of marijuana in his pocket.

On 14 Jun 07 a thirty-four year old Lowell resident reported she was driving her daughter and fourteen year old son on Weppler Road when her son began hitting his sister. She stopped the car and attempted to discipline the teenager by slapping him when he punched her in the chest. The juvenile then kicked his mother in the ribs and knocked her to the ground. As a result, Deputy Sheriff Stackpole arrested the juvenile for being delinquent and transported him to the Washington County Juvenile Detention Center.

On 14 Jun 07 Karen L. Pope, age 54, 2300 Sheets Run Drive, New Matamoras, reported sometime during the past day an unknown suspect(s) forcibly entered the barn behind her home and stole a red Honda ATV. This case remains under investigation (1299).

On 14 Jun 07 Deputy Sheriff Mankins investigated a two vehicle crash in the parking lot of B&J Carryout in Newport. Vincent L. Dalessio, age 75, 36577 State Route 7, Sardis, was towing a pontoon boat with his truck between two cars in the parking lot when the boat struck and damaged the rear driver side fender of a Mercury Cougar owned by John C. Witschey, 605 Montgomery Street, Marietta.

Katherine L. Edwards, 836 Pike Street Apt. 4, Marietta, for disorderly conduct by intoxication on 29 May 07.

Joseph L. Hoffman, age 24, 1050 Fourth Street, Mason, WV, for driving under a suspended license on 8 May 07.

Norman D. Kennedy, age 21, 108 Riley Drive Apt. 4, Marietta, for failing to appear for pretrial on 11 Jun 07.

Serena C. Lindsey, age 31, 413 Market Street, Marietta, for failing to appear for pretrial on 4 Jun 07.

Timothy D. McMahon, age 37, 5400 Emerson Avenue, for driving under a suspended license and speeding on 22 May 07.

Rachel L. Nguyen, age 33, 1514 ½ Gihon Road Apt. B, Parkersburg, for consuming alcohol in a vehicle on 20 May 07.

Jeanette L. Piggot, age 33, 601 Barclay Street Lot 1, Belpre, for failing to appear for pretrial on 30 May 07.

Michael V. Richards, age 29, 1365 McGill Road, Vincent, for driving under a suspended license and for driving with expired registration on 8 Dec 06.

Samantha J. Streight, age 18, 432 Douglas Avenue, Marietta, for issuing a bad check to the Pit Stop for $87.09 on 16 Jan 07.

Jason L. Williams, age 21, 313 Franklin Street, Marietta, for theft on 21 Sep 06.

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:

Benjamin Vincent Smith, age 23, 215 Fifth Street, Marietta, for OVI and for failure to signal, both misdemeanors. Smith was arrested at Glenville Apartments and processed into the Washington County Jail on 14 Jun 07 at 3:42 am.

Mark Joseph Yannitell, age 33, 5646 Deertail Creek, San Antonio, TX, a fugitive from justice. Yannitell was arrested at the courthouse by Captain Brum of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 14 Jun 07 at 4:45 pm.

Larry Gene Munday Jr., age 42, 367A Riverhill Road, Washington, WV, for consuming alcohol in a vehicle and possession of drugs, both misdemeanors. Munday was arrested in Little Hocking by Deputy Sheriff Rhodes and processed into the Washington County Jail on 14 Jun 07 at 9:30 pm.

Bernard Newman Delancy, age 44, 27927 Huckleberry Road, Coolville, for OVI and for operating with an expired license, both misdemeanors. Delancy was arrested in Little Hocking by Deputy Sheriff Rhodes and processed into the Washington County Jail on 14 Jun 07 at 9:59 pm.

Shawn Patrick Whalen, age 31, 1713 Plum Run Road, Waterford, for driving under a suspended license, a misdemeanor. Whalen was arrested on Harmar Street in Marietta by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail on 14 Jun 07 at 10:15 pm.
