On 13 Jun 07 Deputy Sheriff Spencer requested
a warrant for Richard D. Gill, age 45, 4310 Dalzell Road, Whipple,
for violating the terms of a protection order. Late the previous
evening Mr. Gill’s former live-in girlfriend, Kathy J.
Gaskins, age 34, 17 Lauer Road, Whipple, reported Mr. Gill
left her a phone message in violation of a protection order
issued after a domestic violence incident on 9 Jun 07. Ms.
Gaskins also stated she believed Mr. Gill entered her home
while she was away because she noticed one of her stuffed bears
sitting on a guardrail with what appeared to be a noose around
its neck.
On 13 Jun 07 Eugene Biehl, age 78, 140 Biehl
Road, Whipple, reported an unknown individual used his personal
information to open an account and purchase over $1,000 in
high priced ladies clothing. This case remains under investigation
(8411).
On 13 Jun 07 an employee of Cutler Station,
9731 State Route 555, Cutler, reported when he arrived at work
at 5 am that morning he noticed a window was broken and that
the front door he locked at 10 the previous evening was unlocked.
Inside the store the employee noticed several packs of cigarettes
on the floor and that the suspect(s) tampered with cigarette
rack. Monetary loss due to the theft of cigarettes is estimated
to be less than $50. This case remains under investigation
(1293).
On 13 Jun 07 Vernon Estadt, age 44, 41858
Keithtown Road, Caldwell, reported after he left his broken
down truck on the side Dalzell Road for several hours he returned
to find his windshield broken. Mr. Estadt also stated it appeared
like someone tried to start a fire on the truck’s hood
and poured water in the gas tank. This case remains under investigation
(945).
On 13 Jun 07 Jack Semon, age 74, 100 Wittekind
Road, Marietta, reported a Ruger .22 caliber handgun was stolen
from his nightstand sometime since January. This case remains
under investigation (1090).
WARREN HIGH SCHOOL STUDENT ARRESTED FOR MAKING
THREATS
A sixteen year old Warren High School student has been arrested
and is in custody at the Washington County Juvenile Detention
Center for making threats. The student allegedly stated in
the presence of school officials that he was going to go home
and get a weapon and come back to the school and be homicidal.
SHERIFF’S OFFICE SHOOTING TEAM WINS
AWARDS
Yesterday in Zanesville members of the Sheriff’s Office
shooting team garnered four awards at the Briar Rabbit competition.
Deputy Sheriff Tom Taylor placed as the overall best shooter;
Sgt. Pat Gherke and Sgt. John Underwood received the highest
team score and took second place in the team shoot-off; Sgt.
Gherke placed again, taking second in the .40 caliber division.
Over 50 law enforcement officers from eight different agencies
in Ohio participated. Pictured left to right in the front row

right are Deputy Sheriffs Jason Norman, Josh Staats, and Tom
Taylor, Sgt. Pat Gherke and Sgt. John Underwood.
the Sheriff’s
Office received the following warrants:
David A. Rexroad, age 30, 1489 Emerson Avenue,
Parkersburg, for violating the terms of his probation by failing
to make $500 in restitution to Tractor’s Supply.
Keryn A. Miller, age 24, 105 Julia Avenue,
Williamstown, for violating the terms of her probation by failing
to obtain a valid operator’s license or to serve three
days in jail.
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Raymond Eugene Howard Jr., age 33, Marietta,
for trafficking in drugs, a felony. Howard turned himself in
to Detective Alkire of the Washington County Sheriff’s
Office and was processed into the Washington County Jail on
13 Jun 07 at 12:56 pm.
Douglas Gene Snider, age 33, 409 Maple Street, Marietta, for
theft and forgery, both felonies. Snider was picked up at the
Noble Correctional Institution by Deputy Sheriff O’Brien
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 13 Jun 07
at 1:28 pm.
Jeremy Ray Braun, age 22, 195 Caywood Road, Marietta, for
two felony counts of breach of recognizance. Braun was picked
up at Orient prison by Deputy Sheriff O’Brien and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 13 Jun 07 at 2:00 pm.
