On 7 Jun 07 Deputy Sheriff Spencer issued
a citation to Travis E. Pasco, age 19, 700 East Branch Road,
Lowell, for driving under a suspended license. Deputy Spencer
stopped Mr. Pasco on State Route 60 at Arends Ridge Road in
Muskingum Township.
On 7 Jun 07 the US Coast Guard reported an
AEP barge recovered an unmanned boat floating down the Ohio
River. As Deputy Sheriff Smeeks identified the boat’s
owner, Kenneth W. Luman, age 51, 151 Allen Street, Little Hocking,
the AEP boat captain docked the boat at Price Inland. Mr. Luman
stated the boat was moored to his dock on the Little Hocking
River and it appeared a rope securing it to the dock was cut.
The boat sustained no damage and no items are missing. This
case remains under investigation.
On 7 Jun 07 Deputy Sheriff Rhodes arrested
Michael D. Blind, age 28, 1247 Sealy Ridge Road, Vincent, for
OVI, speeding, driving outside the marked lanes of travel and
for driving under a suspended license. Deputy Rhodes observed
Mr. Blind driving the vehicle at a high rate of speed as he
passed him traveling in the opposite direction but when he
stopped the vehicle a female was driving. Handcuffing Mr. Blind,
Deputy Rhodes noticed an odor of alcohol and administered horizontal
gaze nystagmus tests. Mr. Blind later admitted he was the driver
and performed poorly on field sobriety tests. When transported
to the Washington County Jail he refused a BAC test.
On 7 Jun 07 Steven S. Bingler, age 39, 207
Clark Road, Marietta, reported between 2 and 6 Jun an unknown
suspect(s) ransacked his hunting cabin on Paxton Road in Newport.
Mr. Bingler stated nothing is missing and the only damage he
noticed was to his couch. This case remains under investigation
(1299).
On 7 Jun 07 Deputy Sheriff Reynolds arrested
Bryan K. Babcock, age 40, 516 ½ Third Street, Marietta,
for OVI, having fictitious plates and for driving under a suspended
license. In the Go Mart parking lot Deputy Reynolds observed
Mr. Babcock’s Oldsmobile had plates belonging to a Ford
four door. Questioning Mr. Babcock, Deputy Reynolds noticed
an odor of alcohol and administered horizontal gaze nystagmus
tests. Following his poor performance on the tests, Mr. Babcock
was transported to the Washington County Jail where he refused
a BAC test.
On 7 Jun 07 an employee of Ohio Valley Lime,
16360 State Route 7, Marietta, reported three scrap radiators
and a short piece of heavy copper wire were stolen from the
business since 29 May 07. This case remains under investigation
(501).
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Mitchell Lee Greenwood, age 21, 35 Heeter Road,
Newport, for violating the terms of his probation, a misdemeanor.
Greenwood was arrested at the office of Probation Officer Brockmeier
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 7 Jun 07 at
8:52 am.
Lawrence Harold Biery, age 41, Marietta, for violating the
terms of his probation, a misdemeanor. Biery was picked up
at the North Central Regional Jail by Deputy Sheriff O’Brien
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 7 Jun 07 at
11:25 am.
James Leonard Tingler, age 22, 3510 Oakview Road, Girard,
OH, for a felony charge of receiving stolen property and a
misdemeanor charge of driving under a suspended license. Tingler
was arrested on State Route 7 by the Ohio State Highway Patrol
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 7 Jun 07 at
12:15 pm.
Rocky Allen Hockenberry, age 47, 115 Warner Second Street,
Lower Salem, for disorderly conduct by intoxication, a misdemeanor.
Hockenberry was arrested on Front Street in Marietta by Patrolman
Chapman of the Marietta City Police Department and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 7 Jun 07 at 8:35 pm.
Michael David Blind, age 28, 1247 Sealy Ridge Road, Vincent,
for OVI, contempt of a court order, speeding, driving under
an FRA suspended license and for driving outside the marked
lanes of travel, all misdemeanors. Blind was arrested on State
Route 555 by Deputy Sheriff Rhodes and processed into the Washington
County Jail on 7 Jun 07 at 8:39 pm.
