On 6 Jun 07 Deputy Sheriff Evans requested
a summons for Phillip Hughes, age 21, 1001 Front Street, Marietta,
for telephone harassment. Despite being asked by his twenty-one
year old ex-girlfriend not to phone her, Mr. Hughes proceeded
to call her cell phone six times.
On 6 Jun 07 Deputy Sheriff Sirianni responded
to a report that a nine year old Whipple resident was choked
by his mother’s live-in boyfriend. Arriving at 17 Lauer
Road around noon, Deputy Sirianni learned the boy’s mother
and Richard D. Gill, age 45, began drinking already and had
been to and returned from the Wrangler Tavern. Deputy Sirianni
determined that for some unknown reason Mr. Gill grabbed the
boy by the back of the neck and choked him. As a result, Mr.
Gill was arrested for domestic violence and transported to
the Washington County Jail.
On 6 Jun 07 Steven R. Evans, age 18, 16120
State Route 821, Macksburg, reported after an individual drove
past his house it appeared the driver of the vehicle fired
a weapon out the window. This case remains under investigation
(1299).

John Matthew Heldman, age 29, 1348 Masonic
Park Road, Marietta, for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.
Heldman was picked up in Tuscarawas County by Deputy Sheriff
O’Brien and processed into the Washington County Jail
on 6 Jun 07 at 12:35 pm.
Richard Daniel Gill, age 45, 17 Lauer Road, Whipple, for domestic
violence, a felony. Gill was arrested at his residence by Deputy
Sheriff Sirianni and processed into the Washington County Jail
on 6 Jun 07 at 1:15 pm.
Connie Ann Trout, age 25, 500 13th Street Apt. 206, Parkersburg,
for theft, a misdemeanor. Trout was arrested at Wal-Mart in
Marietta by Patrolman Hively of the Marietta City Police Department
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 6 Jun 07 at
1:40 pm.
Michael E. Dye, age 52, 31 River Park Manor Apt. 3, New Matamoras,
for OVI, hit-skip and for failing to maintain assured clear
distance, all misdemeanors. Dye was arrested by the Ohio State
Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail
on 6 Jun 07 at 4:40 pm.
Amber Loraine Sparks, age 27, 600 Main Street, Waterford,
for passing bad checks and for failure to appear at a court
ordered hearing on unpaid fines, both misdemeanors. Sparks
was picked up in Belpre by Patrolman Newell of the Marietta
City Police Department and processed into the Washington County
Jail on 6 Jun 07 at 8:40 pm.
