On 3 Jun 07 Deputy Sheriff Morris issued a citation to Christopher J. Messina, age 20, 221 E. 246th Street, Euclid, OH, for traveling 71 mph in a 55 mph zone. Deputy Morris stopped Mr. Messina near milepost sixteen on State Route 7 in Warren Township.

On 3 Jun 07 a sixteen year old Lowell resident reported his mother slapped him and grabbed him by the throat during an argument over him being on the phone at 1 am. The mother countered, saying her son is difficult to deal with and that shed grabbed his arm but did not slap or choke him. Viewing no marks on the victim and because he stated he was not in fear for his safety, Deputy Sheriff Reynolds closed this case as unfounded.

On 3 Jun 07 Deputy Sheriffs McLeish and Norman investigated a report that Richard G. Newman II, age 40, Pennock Trailer Court Lot 21, Beverly, was at his residence and had active warrants. At the scene the Deputies also observed a woman in Mr. Newman’s presence that had a protection order against him. As a result, Mr. Newman was arrested for the active warrants and for violating the terms of a protection order and transported to the Washington County Jail.

On 3 Jun 07 Jay Staats, age 40, 491 Hill Road, Cutler, reported a neighbor threatened him with a knife because he allegedly made derogatory comments against his neighbor’s family. This case remains under investigation (586).

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:

Jeremy David Wright, age 24, 533 Third Street, Marietta, for violating the terms of his probation, a misdemeanor. Wright was arrested at the Locker Room in Marietta by Patrolman Arbaugh of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 3 Jun 07 at 1:25 am.

Richard Glenn Newman II, age 40, Pennock Trailer Court Lot 21, Beverly, for domestic violence, criminal damaging and for violating the terms of a protection order, all misdemeanors. Newman was arrested at his residence by Deputy Sheriff Norman and processed into the Washington County Jail on 3 Jun 07 at 11:20 pm.
