On 27 May 07 Deputy Sheriff Evans arrested
Matthew Scott Schofield, age 25, 1717 15th Avenue, Parkersburg,
for OVI. Noticing Mr. Schofield Burnfield did not have a functioning
license plate light, Deputy Evans stopped Mr. Schofield at
the intersection of Front and Putnam Streets. Mr. Schofield
had an odor of alcohol as well as bloodshot eyes and admitted
drinking three beers that evening. Following his poor performance
on field sobriety tests Mr. Schofield was transported to the
Washington County Jail where he tested .142% BAC.
On 27 May 07 Steven Casto, age 34, 1313 Gilman
Avenue, Marietta, reported he sprayed pepper spray in the face
of Phillip C. Hughes, age 21, 1001 Front Street, Marietta,
after Mr. Hughes threatened and attempted to start a fight
with him. Mr. Casto stated Mr. Hughes appeared at his home
intoxicated, wanting to see his son. Unable to see his kin,
Mr. Hughes yelled and caused commotion before being sprayed
by Mr. Casto. Then after Mr. Hughes washed his eyes, he grabbed
a steak knife and cut his right arm. After being treated at
Marietta Memorial Hospital, Mr. Hughes was arrested for disorderly
conduct by intoxication and transported to the Washington County
Jail (1097).
On 27 May 07 the manager of Napoli’s
Pizza, 19 Arrowhead Road, Little Hocking, reported an unauthorized
individual disposed of seven bags of trash in a dumpster paid
for by the business. This case remains under investigation
(1293).
On 27 May 07 a Corrections Officer at the
Washington County Jail, 101 Westview Avenue, Marietta, reported
an unknown suspect slashed the tire of a Sheriff’s Office
van used by the jail sometime around midnight that day. This
case remains under investigation (1097).
On 27 May 07 Roger Myers, age 56, 2049 State
Route 26, Wingett Run, reported between 7 pm the previous evening
and 11 am that morning an unknown suspect(s) stole a 110 cc
Wildfire ATV from his open garage. This case remains under
investigation (1299).
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Matthew O’Neal McDonald, age 28, 1291 Patricia Lane,
Heath, OH, for violating the terms of his probation, a misdemeanor.
McDonald was arrested in Marietta by Patrolman Huffman of the
Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington
County Jail on 27 May 07 at 1:00 am.
Matthew Scott Schofield, age 25, 1717 15th Avenue, Parkersburg,
for OVI, a misdemeanor. Schofield was arrested on Front Street
in Marietta by Deputy Sheriff Evans and processed into the
Washington County Jail on 27 May 07 at 2:40 am.
Aaron Wesley Schneider, age 27, 1365 Sheets Run Road, Reno,
for two misdemeanor counts of assault. Schneider was arrested
on Pike Street in Marietta by Patrolman Hickey of the Marietta
City Police Department and processed into the Washington County
Jail on 27 May 07 at 3:30 am.
Margaret Mary Fox, age 33, 160 Crestwood Court, Belpre, for
driving under a suspended license, speeding and for not wearing
a seat belt, all misdemeanors. Fox was arrested on US 50 in
Belpre by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into
the Washington County Jail on 27 May 07 at 11:44 am.
Phillip Conrad Hughes, age 21, 1001 Front Street, Marietta,
for disorderly conduct by intoxication, a misdemeanor. Hughes
was arrested at 1313 Gilman Avenue in Marietta by Deputy Sheriff
Day and processed into the Washington County Jail on 27 May
07 at 5:30 pm.
