On 25 May 07 Deputy Sheriff Mankins was arresting
Raymond E. Howard Jr., age 33, 533 Third Street, Marietta,
for an outstanding warrant when he discovered a plastic baggy
containing marijuana and a rolling tube in Mr. Howard’s
pocket. As a result, Mr. Howard was additionally charged with
possession of drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia and
transported to the Washington County Jail.
On 25 May 07 a forty-eight year old Little
Hocking resident reported being involved in a domestic dispute
with his twelve year old son. He stated his son became verbally
abusive after being asked to clean a mess and began kicking
and shoving him. After being restrained from harming family
members the juvenile retreated to his room and returned with
a lock blade knife. The child’s parents were able to
wrestle the knife away and escaped uninjured. The juvenile
was arrested for being delinquent and transported to the Washington
County Juvenile Detention Center.
On 25 May 07 Scott Barta, age 45, 2260 Layman
Road, Vincent, reported he awoke at 1 am that morning to barking
dogs and discovered a wooden chair on his porch was set on
fire. The Fire Marshall’s Office will conduct further
investigation in this incident (586).
On 25 May 07 Deputy Sheriff Staats arrested
Joshua D. Murphy, age 19, PO Box 1276, Torch, OH, for possession
of drug paraphernalia. Stopping Mr. Murphy for a traffic violation
on US 50, Deputy Staats’ canine indicated the presence
of drugs in the vehicle. A subsequent search yielded smoking
pipes fashioned from a Busch Light beer can and a gas pipe
from under the passenger seat of Mr. Murphy’s vehicle
as well as a small quantity of marijuana.

Elizabeth M. Bumgarner, age 19, 547 Sixth
Street, Parkersburg, for contempt for failure to appear at
a court ordered hearing on unpaid fines in the sum of $224.90.
Thaddeus A. Heiss, age 44, 295 Offenberger Road, Lowell, for
contempt for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on
unpaid fines in the sum of $121.55.
Terrance M. Price, age 43, 2811 Sixth Street, Coolville, for
contempt for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on
unpaid fines in the sum of $105.30.
Rudy L. Ramirez, age 36, 10 North McDonald, The Plains, for
contempt for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on
unpaid fines in the sum of $163.80.
Danielle A. Vanwey, age 23, 3780 Warren Chapel Road, Marietta,
for contempt for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing
on unpaid fines in the sum of $822.90.
e following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Thomas Stewart Rutter, age 44, 113 Becker Lane,
Marietta, for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing
on unpaid fines, a misdemeanor. Rutter was picked up at the
Morgan County line by Deputy Sheriff Norman and processed into
the Washington County Jail on 25 May 07 at 12:08 am.
Raymond Eugene Howard Jr., age 33, 533 Third
Street, Marietta, for failure to appear at a court ordered
hearing on unpaid fines, driving under a suspended license,
possession of drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia, all
misdemeanors. Howard was arrested at the BP station in Reno
by Deputy Sheriff Mankins and processed into the Washington
County Jail on 25 May 07 at 11:17 am.
Maggie Anna Jones, age 32, 307 Third Street, Lowell, for driving
under a suspended license, a misdemeanor. Jones was arrested
on US 50 by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into
the Washington County Jail on 25 May 07 at 11:45 am.
Henry Clement Lori Jr., 207 Curtis Boulevard Apt. B, Marietta,
for disorderly conduct by intoxication, a misdemeanor. Lori
was arrested at 109 Second Street in Marietta by Patrolman
Heddleston of the Marietta City Police Department and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 25 May 07 at 3:43 pm.
Joshua David Murphy, age 19, PO Box 1276, Torch, OH, for possession
of drug paraphernalia, a misdemeanor. Murphy was arrested in
Little Hocking by Deputy Sheriff Staats and processed into
the Washington County Jail on 25 May 07 at 5:25 pm.
Jason Andrew King, age 29, 104 Sherwood Drive, Williamstown,
for operating without or with an expired license, a misdemeanor.
King was arrested in Marietta by Patrolman Blasko of the Marietta
City Police Department and processed into the Washington County
Jail on 25 May 07 at 7:56 pm.
