On 20 May 07 Deputy Sheriff Sirianni responded
to the scene of death of a sixty-eight year old Vincent resident.
The man’s death appears to be due to natural causes;
no foul play is suspected.
On 20 May 07 Carrie S. Britton, age 20, 4000
Patten Mills Road, Stockport, reported that afternoon her wallet
containing $155 and various personal items was stolen from
her unlocked vehicle while she visited her mother at 205 Third
Street, Beverly. This case remains under investigation (1299).
On 20 May 07 Deputy Sheriff Staats responded
to the scene of death of a sixty-two year old Marietta resident.
The man’s death was due to a self-inflicted gunshot wound;
no foul play is suspected.
On 20 May 07 Arthur P. Arnold, age 51, 537
Turkeyhen Road, Fleming, reported he believes an individual
whom he hired to perform various outdoor tasks stole several
items on 17 and 18 May. Mr. Arnold stated the suspect stole
a quantity of scrap copper wire, a case of beer that tastes
great and is less filling from a vacant home on his property
and over $1,000 from the home in which he and his wife live.
This case remains under investigation (515).
On 20 May 07 Deputy Sheriff Staats investigated
the theft of items from 990 and 1290 Lang Ridge Road, Lowell.
The victims stated the vehicles parked at their residences
were entered and rummaged through and that the only thing missing
from one of the vehicles was spare change. At the scene of
the crimes the suspect(s) also entered a barn and detached
garage and stole a buffer, two saws, a MIG welder, two drills,
an airgun and a torch.
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Gerald Lee Bates Jr., age 37, 46955 County Road 56, Caldwell,
for OVI, having an inoperable license plate light and for having
an inoperable headlight, all misdemeanors. Bates was arrested
on State Route 821 by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 20 May 07 at 3:00 am.
Jeanette Lynn Piggott, age 33, 1402 22nd Street, Vienna, for
breach of recognizance and failure to appear, both misdemeanors.
Piggott was arrested on Barclay Street in Belpre by Patrolman
Fields of the Belpre City Police Department and processed into
the Washington County Jail on 20 May 07 at 4:23 pm.
