On 12 May 07 Mindy M. Perine, age 32, 184
Fourth Street, Lowell, reported her live-in boyfriend Danny
L. Herman Jr., age 38, fled their residence after assaulting
her. Dispatched to the scene, Deputy Evans learned the couple
was arguing over their relationship when Mr. Herman struck
Ms. Perine repeatedly in the head and neck. As a result, Deputy
Evans requested a warrant for Mr. Herman for domestic violence.
On 12 May 07 Deputy Sheriff Evans assisted
Sgt. Fields of the Belpre City Police Department in apprehending
Michael J. Nickell, age 43, 23063 State Route 93, Logan, OH,
for obstructing official business. Suspicious of Mr. Nickell
lurking about the Belpre Church of Christ, Sgt. Fields attempted
to stop and speak with Mr. Nickell but he fled on foot. When
captured, Mr. Nickell stated he absconded because he thought
there was an active warrant for his arrest.
On 12 May 07 Deputy Sheriff Morris requested
a summons for Keith Baker, age 25, 508 ½ Summers Street,
Parkersburg, for possession of drug paraphernalia. Mr. Baker
was a passenger in a vehicle stopped for speeding on US 50
when Deputy Morris found a glass marijuana pipe in the vehicle’s
glove compartment. When questioned, Mr. Baker admitted the
pipe was his and he placed it in the glove compartment.
On 12 May 07 an employee of Devola Cream Land,
4780 State Route 60, Marietta, reported the business received
a bad check for $18.45 on 16 Apr 07. This case remains under
investigation (8411).
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Leonard Scott Lewis, age 27, PO Box 732, Marietta, for OVI
and for not wearing a seat belt, both misdemeanors. Lewis was
arrested on Virginia Street by the Ohio State Highway Patrol
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 12 May 07
at 1:03 am.
Michael Joseph Nickell, age 43, 23063 State Route 93, Logan,
OH, for obstructing official business, a misdemeanor. Nickell
was arrested in Belpre by Deputy Sheriff Evans and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 12 May 07 at 2:45 am.
Michael Sernard Higgins, age 22, for operating without or
with an expired license and for driving outside the marked
lanes of travel, both misdemeanors. Higgins was arrested near
milepost eleven on Interstate 77 by the Ohio State Highway
Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail on 12
May 07 at 10:15 am.
Thomas Joseph Noble, age 49, 3525 Cass Elizabeth Lake Apt.
A, Waterford, MI, for failure to pay a reinstatement fee, for
failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid fines
and for breach of recognizance, all misdemeanors. Noble was
arrested on State Route 7 in Marietta by Patrolman Warden of
the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the
Washington County Jail on 12 May 07 at 5:40 pm.
James Joe Carpenter, age 47, 430 ½ Third Street, Marietta,
for disorderly conduct by intoxication, a misdemeanor. Carpenter
was arrested at 411 Third Street in Marietta by Patrolman Walters
of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the
Washington County Jail on 12 May 07 at 6:39 pm.
Steven Robert Burnfield, age 50, 338 Barrett-South Road, Vincent,
for OVI, a misdemeanor. Burnfield was arrested on Brackenridge
Road in Barlow by Deputy Sheriff Evans and processed into the
Washington County Jail on 12 May 07 at 5:10 am.
