On 5 May 07 Deputy Sheriff Mankins arrested
Jacob J. Grasley, age 20, 98 Adams Street, Nelsonville, for
underage consumption of alcohol. Stopping at Lane’s Farm
Campground, Deputy Mankins observed individuals that appeared
under twenty-one. Mr. Grasley was unsteady on his feet as he
spoke to Deputy Mankins and admitted consuming at least five
beers during the evening.
On 5 May 07 three Waterford residents reported
writing checks to a seed company in September and October 2006
for corn seeds to be delivered this spring. As of the report
date the victims stated their checks totaling over $4,000 were
cashed but the seed has not been delivered. This case remains
under investigation (1097).
On 5 May 07 Corrections Officer Travaglio
investigated an incident of vandalism of government owned property
at the Washington County Jail. A witness of the incident reported
Travis E. Sparks, age 24, 648 Phillips Street, Marietta, became
angry while speaking on a phone leased by the jail and pulled
the receiver away from the phone cord’s metal sheathing,
leaving the phone inoperable. When questioned Mr. Sparks admitted
damaging the phone because he was upset after his phone conversation
suddenly disconnected. Evidence supporting a fifth degree felony
charge of vandalism was sent to the Prosecutor’s Office
for grand jury consideration.
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Jacob John Grasley, age 20, 98 Adams Street, Nelsonville,
for underage consumption of alcohol, a misdemeanor. Grasley
was arrested at Lane’s Farm by Deputy Sheriff Mankins
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 5 May 07 at
4:00 am.
Larry Joe Wilson, age 44, 108 Faye Avenue, Marietta, for failure
to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid fines, a misdemeanor.
Wilson was arrested on the Marietta College campus by Officer
Moon of the Marietta College Police Department and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 5 May 07 at 10:16 pm.
