On 1 May 07 Deputy Sheriff Rhodes responded
to a fire reported at the home of Scott A. Hoge, age 48, at
his residence at 1074 Giffin Road, Cutler. The small blaze
was confined to the porch of the residence and caused significant
smoke and heat damage. None of the residence’s occupants
were injured during the incident. The Fire Marshall’s
Office will conduct further investigation.
On 1 May 07 Deputy Sheriff Rhodes investigated
a single vehicle crash at 147 Turkey Hollow Road, Cutler. Mack
E. Washington, age 57, 811 ½ Belrock Avenue Apt. 9,
Belpre, was backing his vehicle from a driveway across the
street when he crossed the roadway and struck the residence
of Debra K. Sayres and her husband. Mrs. Sayres’ mobile
home sustained significant damage while the damage to Mr. Washington’s
vehicle was moderate. Mr. Washington was found to be under
the influence of alcohol during the incident and was arrested
for OVI.
On 1 May 07 Jarred M. Robison, age 19, 1203
Poplar Street, Belpre, reported during a dispute over a client
he care for through Havar, the client’s guardian began
ranting and raving and slapped him across the face. This case
remains under investigation (695).
On 1 May 07 Deputy Sheriff Coppernoll was
dispatched to the scene of a domestic dispute at 400 Coffman
Road, Marietta. Gloria J. Flesher, age 51, informed Deputy
Coppernoll that her son Brian, age 33, had been drinking since
she left for work at 6:15 am and when she arrived home he was
extremely inebriated and verbally abusive. Still agitated after
several hours, Mr. Flesher threatened to kill his mother, his
girlfriend and her son. In fear for her safety, Ms. Flesher
stated her son has been verbally abusive sine January and his
behavior continues to escalate. As a result, Deputy Coppernoll
arrested Mr. Flesher for domestic violence and transported
him to the Washington County Jail.
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Amber Lee Best, age 27, 735 Buckeye Ridge Road, Chesterhill,
for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid
fines, a misdemeanor. Best was arrested on State Route 550
by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington
County Jail on 1 May 07 at 9:48 am.
Andrew Cole Pratt, age 20, 1502 Core Road, Parkersburg, for
violating the terms of his probation, a misdemeanor. Pratt
was arrested at the office of Probation Officer Brockmeier
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 1 May 07 at
12:20 pm.
Zachary Elijah Watson, age 23, 16457 Noble Avenue, Caldwell,
for OVI and for breach of recognizance, both misdemeanors.
Watson was picked up at the Highway Patrol post by Deputy Sheriff
Reynolds and processed into the Washington County Jail on 1
May 07 at 5:21 pm.
Brian Lee Flesher, age 33, 11 Wheelbarrow Run Road, Marietta,
for domestic violence, a misdemeanor. Flesher was arrested
at 400 Coffman Road by Deputy Sheriff Coppernoll and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 1 May 07 at 7:40 pm.
Hugh Douglas McGrew, age 18, 109 Colonial Square Apt. B, Belpre,
for driving under a suspended license and for failure to appear
at a court ordered hearing on unpaid fines, both misdemeanors.
McGrew was arrested on Lee Street in Belpre by Patrolman Jobes
of the Belpre City Police Department and processed into the
Washington County Jail on 1 May 07 at 9:30 pm.
