On 24 Apr 07 Jerrold L. Maddox, age 59, 8682
State Route 550, Vincent, reported sometime since the first
of February an unknown suspect(s) entered the woodworking shop
on his property and stole three saws, a spotlight and a router,
a total loss of over $1,000. This case remains under investigation
(200).
On 24 Apr 07 Lt. Wilson stopped a van at the
intersection of US 50 and Braun Road for not stopping at a
red light. After Deputy Sheriff Stackpole conducted an exterior
sniff using his canine the driver, Delbert W. Richards Jr.,
age 48, 606 Laurel Street, Parkersburg, admitted he had a marijuana
pipe and baggy of marijuana in his pocket. While arresting
Mr. Richards for possession of drug paraphernalia, Lt. Wilson
issued minor misdemeanor citations to Sandra Richards, age
43, Richard Midcap, age 45, and Charles Kesterson, age 47,
all of 2503 Beverly Street, Parkersburg, for possessing an
open container of alcohol in the vehicle.
On 24 Apr 07 Deputy Sheriff Rhodes issued
a citation to David A. Dewitt, age 25, 107 Wilson Avenue, Marietta,
for driving under a suspended license. Deputy Rhodes stopped
Mr. Dewitt on State Route 7 near Veto Road in Warren Township.
On 24 Apr 07 Sgt. Gherke issued a citation
to Jonathan A. Carpenter, age 18, 108A Colonial Square, Belpre,
for not wearing a seat belt. Sgt. Gherke stopped Mr. Carpenter
on State Route 7 near Gravel Bank Road in Warren Township.
On 24 Apr 07 Lt. Huffer investigated a two
vehicle collision near the entrance of Warren High School at
130 Warrior Drive, Vincent. A seventeen year old Indian Run
Road, Marietta resident was stopped in traffic behind another
vehicle when Heath W. Zimmerman, age 18, 98 Salster Road, Fleming,
struck the rear of the seventeen year old’s Toyota Camry
with his Ford Ranger. Both vehicles sustained minor damage;
no injuries were reported. As a result of the crash Lt. Huffer
issued a citation to Mr. Zimmerman for failing to maintain
assured clear distance.
On 24 Apr 07 a sixty-three year old Long Road,
Marietta resident reported since the first of March she has
been receiving unwanted phone calls. The victim said the caller
does not speak when she answers the phone but the calls are
bothersome. These cases remain under investigation (586).
On 24 Apr 07 Thomas Munc, age 66, 1257 Coal
Run Hill Road, Lowell, reported finding a large amount of trash
on the west side of the road on land adjacent to his property.
These cases remain under investigation (586).
On 24 Apr 07 Mike Cline, age 50, 1947 Braun
Road, Belpre, reported sometime since the evening of 22 Apr
an unknown suspect dented the right rear quarter panel of his
vehicle by throwing a large rock at it. These cases remain
under investigation (1090).
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Christopher Lee Caldwell, age 25, Marietta,
for OVI, possession of drugs and for driving outside the marked
lanes of travel, all misdemeanors. Caldwell was arrested on
State Route 618 by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 24 Apr 07 at 1:55 am.
David Justin Moreland, age 26, 1511 Staunton
Avenue, Parkersburg, for two felony counts of breach of recognizance.
Moreland was picked up at the North Central Regional Jail in
Greenwood, WV by Deputy Sheriff O’Brien and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 24 Apr 07 at 1:53 pm.
Aaron Matthew Hess, age 29, 410 ½ Warren Street, Marietta,
for failure to appear, a misdemeanor. Hess was arrested at
his residence by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 24 Apr 07 at 6:30 pm.
Jeremiah Allen Jeffers, age 23, 1382 Vickers Road, Marietta,
for violating the terms of his probation, a misdemeanor. Jeffers
was arrested in Marietta by Patrolman Huffman of the Marietta
City Police Department and processed into the Washington County
Jail on 24 Apr 07 at 9:35 pm.
Delbert W. Richards Jr., age 48, 606 Laurel Street, Parkersburg,
for possession of drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia,
both misdemeanors. Richards was arrested in Belpre by Lt. Wilson
of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 24 Apr 07 at 10:45 pm.
Christine Louise Emerick, age 40, 105 Gilman Avenue Lot 12,
Marietta, for failure to appear, a misdemeanor. Emerick was
arrested in Marietta by Patrolman Huffman of the Marietta City
Police Department and processed into the Washington County
Jail on 24 Apr 07 at 11:40 pm.
