On 18 Apr 07 Deputy Sheriff Tornes requested
a summons for Delmer Rhodes, age 55, 105 Gilman Avenue Lot
10, Marietta, for passing bad checks. Deputy Tornes’ affidavit
alleges Mr. Rhodes issued eight bad checks to the Pit Stop
for a total of $1,053.85 between 24 and 28 Jan 07.
On 18 Apr 07 Amanda Mackey, age 24, 35 Lawnsdale
Road, Belpre, reported being involved in a domestic dispute
with her live-in boyfriend and father of her daughter, Alen
D. Stull, age 29, on Sunday 15 Apr. Arguing over her boyfriend’s
infidelity and laziness for not seeking employment, Ms. Mackey
stated Mr. Stull shoved her into a bathroom window and caused
her to cut her ankle when she broke the glass with her foot.
After Ms. Mackey fell to the floor from a punch to the face,
Mr. Stull continued to strike his girlfriend all over her body.
Since Sgt. Gherke was unable to locate Mr. Stull he requested
a warrant for his arrest for domestic violence.
On 18 Apr 07 Deputy Sheriff Mankins encountered
a parked vehicle with an expired registration on Hills Bridge.
The driver Eduardo Ortiz, age 25, 1206B County House Lane,
Marietta, and passenger John D. Hines, age 18, 27245 State
Route 7, Marietta, had an odor of alcohol as they sat in the
truck listening to music. Mr. Hines admitted to Deputy Mankins
he drank alcohol at a friend’s residence that evening
and was arrested for underage consumption of alcohol. In physical
control of the vehicle, Mr. Ortiz failed a horizontal gaze
nystagmus arrest and was arrested for OVI. A subsequent search
of Mr. Ortiz’s vehicle yielded a marijuana pipe that
looked like a cigarette and marijuana residue in the ashtray
of the truck. Additionally charged with possession of drug
paraphernalia, Mr. Ortiz was transported to the Washington
County Jail along with Mr. Hines.
On 18 Apr 07 an employee of SBC, 115 Mill
Creek Road, Marietta, reported overnight that an unknown suspect(s)
cut the lock off the property’s front gate and stole
a length of thirty gauge copper wire valued at approximately
$700. This case remains under investigation (586).
On 18 Apr 07 John M. Wells, age 64, 305 Lauer
Road, Whipple, reported between 15 and 17 Apr a trailer hitch
with a 2 5/16” ball welded to it was stolen from a truck
on his property. This case remains under investigation (1184).
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Ashanti Rosehill Johnson, age 19, 227 Stout
Street, Harrisville, WV, for underage consumption of alcohol
and for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid
fines, both misdemeanors. Johnson was arrested in Marietta
Municipal Court by Deputy Sheriff Simmons and processed into
the Washington County Jail on 18 Apr 07 at 9:46 am.
Buffie Marie Gerst, age 28, 200 Walnut Drive Apt. A, Belpre,
for driving under a suspended license, for operating without
license plates and for failure to appear at a court ordered
hearing on unpaid fines, all misdemeanors. Gerst was arrested
at her residence by Deputy Sheriff Simmons and processed into
the Washington County Jail on 18 Apr 07 at 12:56 pm.
Steven Thomas Hupp, age 36, 108 Seneca Drive, Marietta, for
theft, a misdemeanor. Hupp was picked up at the Zanesville
Police Department by Deputy Sheriff O’Brien and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 18 Apr 07 at 3:15 pm.
Tricia Carolyn McGee, age 27, 116 Groves Avenue, Marietta,
for violating the terms of her probation, a misdemeanor. McGee
was arrested at the office of Probation Officer Ferrell and
processed into the Washington County Jail on 18 Apr 07 at 4:11
pm.
Brandon Elliott Cavitt, age 27, 412 ½ Stanton Avenue,
Springfield, OH, for nonsupport of dependants, a misdemeanor.
Cavitt was picked up at the Clark County Sheriff’s Office
by Corrections Officer Travaglio and processed into the Washington
County Jail on 18 Apr 07 at 5:05 pm.
Steven Douglas Fulton, age 53, Marietta, for failure to appear
at a court ordered hearing on unpaid fines, a misdemeanor.
Fulton was arrested on Third Street in Marietta by Patrolman
Huffman of the Marietta City Police Department and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 18 Apr 07 at 6:10 pm.
Jamie Lynn Foutty, age 21, 169 Mill Branch Road, Belpre, for
two misdemeanor counts of failure to appear. Foutty was arrested
at her residence by Deputy Sheriff Evans and processed into
the Washington County Jail on 18 Apr 07 at 6:15 pm.
Diane Faye Goodnite, age 51, 4450 Stouts Lane, Beverly, for
driving under a suspended license and for not wearing a seat
belt, both misdemeanors. Goodnite was arrested on Ohio Street
in Marietta by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 18 Apr 07 at 6:15 pm.
Sandra Kaye Heeter, age 31, 15590 State Route 555, Cutler,
for driving under a suspended license and for failure to appear,
both misdemeanors. Heeter was arrested on State Route 550 by
Lt. Wilson of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 18 Apr 07
at 6:20 pm.
