SUSPECT ARRESTED AFTER SHOOTING
On 16 Apr 07 Detectives responded to a residence in Dunham
Township, from where Joshua Martini, age 20, 2394 Woodruff
Road, Vincent had been transported after suffering a gunshot
wound in a vehicle somewhere in Wesley Township. Martini was
driving a motor vehicle and was shot in the right side with
a 357 Magnum revolver. The shot was fired through the back
seat of the vehicle Martini was operating. Through investigative
measures, Detective Hiatt learned that Hank Wells, age 19,
9299 State Route 555, Cutler, had been in possession of a loaded
firearm while traveling in a vehicle in Wesley Township. When
questioned, Mr. Wells admitted to being in possession of this
firearm but denied shooting the victim. Mr. Wells further admitted
that he was a passenger in the vehicle in which the victim
had been shot. Contradicting Mr. Wells’ claim of not
shooting him, the victim stated Mr. Wells was in possession
of the weapon prior to him being shot and was also in possession
of it immediately afterward. Mr. Wells was subsequently arrested
for a probation violation and improperly transporting a firearm
in a vehicle and transported to the Washington County Jail.
The weapon was recovered by the Sheriff’s Office tracking
dog “Dutch” located in a brush pile where it had
