On 4 Apr 06 Sgt. Brockmeier arrested Joseph J. Chesnutt, age 43, 12020 Waterford Road, Waterford, for .17 breath OVI. Alerted by an employee at McDonald’s on Gilman Avenue that an intoxicated individual left the restaurant driving a vehicle, Sgt. Brockmeier conducted a traffic stop on Waterford Road near BF Goodrich Road. Mr. Chesnutt swayed as he exited his vehicle and had a strong odor of alcohol as he underwent field sobriety tests. Performing poorly on the tests, Mr. Chesnutt was transported to the Washington County where he tested .278% BAC.

On 4 Apr 07 Deputy Sheriff Morris requested a warrant for Steven T. Hupp, age 36, 108 Seneca Drive, Marietta, for the unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. Mr. Hupp’s grandmother Lucille J. Hupp, age 79, reported when she awoke that morning her grandson, with whom she lives, was not at the residence and her Toyota Camry was missing. Ms. Hupp stated her grandson has taken her vehicle without permission in the past and currently not authorized to drive the vehicle either.

On 4 Apr 07 Deputy Sheriff Morris issued a citation to Timothy J. Shaw, age 20, 840 Pike Street Apt. 41, for not stopping at a stop sign. Deputy Morris stopped Mr. Shaw at the intersection of Browns Road and State Route 7 in Marietta Township.

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:

Richard Edward Carpenter, age 21, 304 Main Street, Waterford, for liquor offenses, a misdemeanor. Carpenter was arrested on Smith Drive in Marietta by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail on 4 Apr 07 at 5:20 am.

Carl Edward Whitacre, age 19, 35520 State Route 537, Graysville, for a felony charge of failure to comply with the order/signal of an officer and misdemeanor charges of OVI and failure to control. Whitacre was arrested on Smith Drive in Marietta by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail on 4 Apr 07 at 5:35 am.

Edward Lee Clendenin, age 50, 141 Midway Drive, Dunbar, WV, for automobile theft, receiving stolen property and theft, all felonies. Clendenin was picked up at the North Central Regional Jail in Charleston by Deputy Sheriff O’Brien and processed into the Washington County Jail on 4 Apr 07 at 10:05 am.

Shaun Allen Griffin, age 23, Douglas Avenue, Marietta, for possession of criminal tools and criminal mischief, both felonies. Griffin was arrested on Gilman Avenue in Marietta by Patrolman Ellenwood of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 4 Apr 07 at 10:15 am.

Joseph John Chesnutt, age 43, 12020 Waterford Road, Waterford, for OVI, a misdemeanor. Chesnutt was arrested on Waterford Road by Sgt. Brockmeier of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 4 Apr 07 at 12:35 pm.

Jonathan Ryan Workman, age 22, 3364 Riverside Green Drive, Dublin, OH, for possession of drug paraphernalia, a misdemeanor. Workman was arrested on Interstate 77 by Deputy Sheriff Smeeks and processed into the Washington County Jail on 4 Apr 07 at 1:39 pm.

Jodi Lynn Schofield, age 25, 8 Sixth Street, Belpre, for violating the terms of her probation, a felony. Schofield was arrested at the office of Probation Officer Gault and processed into the Washington County Jail on 4 Apr 07 at 2:50 pm.

Mitchell Lee Greenwood, age 21, 35 Heeter Road, Newport, for violating the terms of his probation, a misdemeanor. Greenwood was arrested in Drug Court by Probation Officer Ferrell and processed into the Washington County Jail on 4 Apr 07 at 5:05 pm.

Danny Leroy Herman, age 38, 184 Fourth Street, Lowell, for domestic violence, a misdemeanor. Herman was arrested at his residence by Deputy Sheriff Morris and processed into the Washington County Jail on 4 Apr 07 at 10:42 pm.
