On 1 Apr 07 Deputy Sheriff Reynolds issued
a citation to Dennis L. Berga, age 48, 46771 State Route 7,
Newport, for passing on a double yellow line. Deputy Reynolds
stopped Mr. Berga on State Route 7 near milepost twenty-nine
in Marietta Township.
On 1 Apr 06 Sgt. Gherke arrested Mark A. Zumbro,
age 59, 496 Riverview Road, Malta, for OVI and for driving
left of center. Stopped for traveling left of center four times
in a half mile, Mr. Zumbro had an odor of alcohol, bloodshot
eyes and stated he consumed five beers earlier. When he searched
Mr. Zumbro for weapons Sgt. Gherke found an old ketchup bottle
containing an alcoholic beverage and later noticed a Gatorade
bottle in the vehicle containing the same beverage. Mr. Zumbro
repeatedly refused field sobriety tests and was unsteady on
his feet while speaking to Sgt. Gherke. When transported to
the Washington County Jail Mr. Zumbro refused to submit to
a BAC test.
On 1 Apr 07 William E. Dornick, age 33, 801
Springston Road, Vincent, reported the previous afternoon he
observed a passenger in a white pickup truck dispose of car
batteries, a vacuum cleaner, a coffee maker and other trash
in a creek near Springston Road and Sealy Ridge Road. This
case remains under investigation (200).
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Zada Mae McAuley, age 47, 36468 Simonds Road, Dexter City,
for OVI, driving outside the marked lanes of travel and for
tampering with drugs, all misdemeanors. McAuley was arrested
near milepost fourteen on Interstate 77 by the Ohio State Highway
Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail on 1 Apr
07 at 1:45 am.
Keith Alan Bennett, age 36, 4525 Second Street NW, Canton,
for .08 breath OVI and for not dimming headlights, both misdemeanors.
Bennett was arrested near milepost twenty-six on State Route
7 by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington
County Jail on 1 Apr 07 at 3:05 pm.
Erick Alan Cline, age 20, 309 Maple Street, Belpre, for a
felony charge of failure to comply with the order/signal of
an officer and for misdemeanor charges of OVI and failure to
control. Cline was arrested on Main Street in Belpre by Patrolman
Augenstein of the Belpre City Police Department and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 1 Apr 07 at 5:35 am.
Autumn Dawn Lucas, age 28, 17982 State Route 550, Marietta,
for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid
fines, a misdemeanor. Lucas was picked up at the Belpre Police
Department by Sgt. Gherke of the Washington County Sheriff’s
Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 1 Apr
07 at 6:40 pm.
Mark Andrew Zumbro, age 59, 496 Riverview Road, Malta, for
OVI and for driving left of center, both misdemeanors. Zumbro
was arrested on Buchanan Road in Waterford by Sgt. Gherke of
the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 1 Apr 07 at 7:45 pm.
