On 30 Nov 07 Deputy Sheriff Staats was dispatched
to 280 Indian Road, Marietta, in response to a domestic violence
complaint. William Baker, age 59, stated his daughter Christine,
age 25, came to the residence to visit her children, during
which time she took her mother’s purse inside a bathroom
and locked the door. Mr. Baker forced open the door and observed
his daughter remove a fifty dollar bill from the purse. Shortly
after being confronted by her father Ms. Baker’s grabbed
her five year old daughter by the neck with both hands. Mr.
Baker and his wife freed the child and Ms. Baker fled. Mr.
Baker also informed Deputy Staats his daughter broke a basement
window to enter their home. He further detailed that his daughter
used a kitchen spatula to pry open the door to a safe in the
basement and stole $1,000 in cash. On 31 Mar Ms. Baker was
arrested for felony charges of burglary, safecracking and theft
and misdemeanor charges of domestic violence and theft.
On 30 Mar 07 Deputy Sheriff Rhodes issued
a citation to James J. Carpenter, age 47, 412 Third Street,
Marietta, for driving under an OVI suspended license. Deputy
Rhodes stopped Mr. Carpenter on Glendale Road near Colegate
Drive in Marietta Township.
On 30 Mar 07 Deputy Sheriff Durham investigated
a domestic disturbance in progress in a moving vehicle in the
vicinity of State Route 339 and State Route 550. Locating the
vehicle parked on Church Street in Vincent, Deputy Durham spoke
with the victim, Emily M. Fox, age 25, 3464 Burnett Road, Cutler.
Mrs. Fox stated she and her husband David, age 31, were arguing
over money when she attempted to exit their stopped vehicle.
At that time she said her husband grabbed her shirt and jacket
and began driving while the door was open. Mrs. Fox also state
she was in fear for safety while she attempted to leave the
vehicle and thought her husband would harm her. As a result,
Deputy Durham arrested Mr. Fox for domestic violence and transported
him to the Washington County Jail.
On 30 Mar 07 Deputy Sheriff Staats issued
a citation to Robert E. Theobald, age 23, 14980 State Route
26, Reno, for driving 62 mph in a 50 mph zone. Deputy Staats
stopped Mr. Theobald on US 50 near Clement Avenue in Belpre
Township.
On 30 Mar 07 Deputy Sheriff Smeeks responded
to the scene of death of a fifty-six year old Marietta resident.
The woman’s death appears natural; no foul play is suspected.
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Brian Ray Ackley, age 28, 16750 Cannan Road,
Athens, for driving under an OVI suspended license, a misdemeanor.
Ackley was arrested in Marietta by Deputy Sheriff Evans and
processed into the Washington County Jail on 30 Mar 07 at 9:13
am.
David Jennings Fox, age 31, 4105 Burnett Road,
Cutler, for domestic violence, a misdemeanor. Fox was arrested
at Webster’s
Cabinets by Deputy Sheriff Durham and processed into the Washington
County Jail on 30 Mar 07 at 10:05 am.
Walter R. Jarucaro Jr, age 24, 587 Morris Loop Road, arietta,
for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid
fines, a misdemeanor. Jarucaro was arrested at the office of
Probation Officer Hamilton and processed into the Washington
County Jail on 30 Mar 07 at 3:28 pm.
William Joseph Mitchell, age 22, 1415 Lancaster Street, Marietta,
for breaking and entering and theft, both felonies. Mitchell
was picked up at the Lake Erie Correctional Institution by
Deputy Sheriff O’Brien and processed into the Washington
County Jail on 30 Mar 07 at 3:57 pm.
Shawn Henry Farnsworth, age 34, 10825 Highland Ridge Road,
Macksburg, for violating the terms of his probation, a misdemeanor.
Farnsworth was arrested at his residence by Lt. Canavan of
the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 30 Mar 07 at 8:37 pm.
